A god that needs blood to wash away sins!
A god that can punish people forever!
It's strange I believed all that junk for so long!

I, too, rejected christianity because it was not giving me anything useful in my life. Rather than feeling loved by god, I was judged, used, and derided by my fellow christians. A single woman is looked upon as free labor and a waste of space until she marries and procreates. When I at last broke free of this huge delusion, I felt a great weight was lifted from me. I've been happy and spiritually fulfilled ever since. I am a Pagan.

I ask you another question- just to let you know that I am not religious- but don't you think religion is fundamentally flawed as it is the work of people through the ages? I believe that the church did many wrongs in the name of religion- wars, keeping wealth for themselves, adopting a power- the other side is that they have also done plenty of good. Faith is a great comfort to some, many a religious person keep the world going by caring.
As I would view it- rather then be extreme either way- take the basics- live a good moral life ( notion of karma ties in here )- no killing or raping etc. Appreciate life and others. No religion will tell me how to live my life. But I would not say I am not spiritual... don't hate any religion- and take the best bits from all of them. What do you believe?

Before one says they are an ex-Christian, one must know first what being a Christian really means. Before you decide that you reject Christ, it would behoove you to know what you have rejected. And if you reject Christ without attempting to truly know Him, and you are wrong it will be too late to change your mind. Actually, it's not "religion" that does anything wrong. It is a matter of people in their sinful natures who are the bad apples. Christ did not come for the righteous but for the sinner. So, that means YOU. He came and died for YOU as much as he did for the holiest person on earth. The most wonderful experience in life if feeling and seeing God's hand in your life. But first you must learn enough and be humble enough to recognize His hand. He is a loving God, not a cruel God. And He is hoping you decide to learn what you are missing. Wisdom is knowing the Giver.

Greetings! I consider myself an ex-Christian. In fact, in my spiritual belief, Unitarian Universalism, there are many who have found that Christianity is not the perfect end-all, be all.

I did feel the movement of the Holy spirit in my heart when I became a Christian, but many, many years later could not stand the hypocracy that I heard from the pulpit of big churches and thousand dollar suits. I found myself insulted by the words of God being thrown out from the pulpit.

When I was in the Air Force and met some very unique men and women who were gay, I found myself ashamed that I was cultured to not give them the time of day and not to deal with heathenistic people, participating in the "gross sin" as Judeo-Christians call it.

For me, that was the coldest awakening from a deep sleep. To this day, it sickens me that there are those who insist on putting their noses in people's bedroom and lifestyles where they don't belong. That goes for everyone who votes that "marriage is between man and woman".

When the church ends this form of intolerable prejudice and welcomes everyone for who they are, perhaps then I could reconsider returning to the faith.

But in the meantime, with the KKK burning crosses, and the southern Baptist church marching along without even apologizing for their role in slavery and enforcement of Jim Crow laws, and the senseless slaughter of Native Americans, killed in the name of Jesus, I sense I will be waiting a very long time.

In the mean time, I will take care of the chidren I work with so they can grow and learn that there is more to life than violence and prejudice.

Take care.

All Abrahamic religions are a joke(Islam,Christianity, and most of all,my favorite of all time Judaism). What else can U expect from religions that are based an absurd notion that life is just to be suffered for an angry tyrant in the sky. Who also throws lighting at sinners.Christianity is just a religion for pansies. Islam, well it just does God's violent will with human swords, instead of divine intervention.

So it is a sickness to love God and your fellow man as you do yourself, to care for others and seek to do them no wrong, to diligently search for truth and attempt to right wrongs. The greater sickness is to deliberately lead others astray and down a path of utter destruction, darkness, and separation from God and all that is truly good. Yours is a life of lack of faith and understanding.

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. God loves you inspite of you ability to love Him. I pray that the lord will touch your heart to believe. I want you to know this evening that I Love you as well and that I am praying for you.

Regardless of your beliefs, I find it strange that someone would find purpose in destroying or tearing down others. What purpose does it serve, other than to validate your own views?

There is no such thing as an "ex" Christian. If you are a called out one, indwelt with the Spirit, forgiven, redeemed and justified, you would not walk away, you would not be able to deny God or Christ. My guess is you maybe did the works, played the game, but were never really His, He never knew you.

1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they were of us, they would have remained with us; but they left so that it might be revealed that they all are not of us.

Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power?
Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!"
