i sold a 12oz of beer to an underaged guy whom i mistook as a customer i'd had earlier so i didn't ask for id. Apparently the police caught the guy, and me in turn, for not asking for an id. therefore i receive a citation to go court. i live in california and i'm wondering what are the procedures and cost of the fine that i'll face. Ironically, a random checkup was made half a year ago and i happen to be the guy to sell beer to a guy working undercover for the police and did ask for id, because i always do, and received a letter explaining that i successfully complied to the law and congratulated our bussiness for passing the checkup made. what can i do?
i appreciatte your help very much
Thanks.

You will be penalized for the selling of beer to a minor and cite the mitigating circumstance that you do not intend to violate the law because the appearance of the minor was deceiving.

If this is your first offense, tell the judge your side of the story and even tell them about you getting that award. After that apologize to the court and tell the court that you will never do it again and that you promise to always to check ID. The court will give you leniency and probably fine you and make you do a community service, suspend your license to sell alcohol untill you take another course to sell alcohol.

I know that the laws vary from state to state. But here In Alabama...They go straight to jail and pay a hefty fine. What's really funny Is you can get Into more trouble selling a minor cigarrettes than alcohol. They have handcuffed people on the job and took them straight to jail....I use to tell guys that unless they had a VALID Picture ID...They weren't getting anything. Unless they could support me and my children and keep us up according to my aquired lifestyle.I made better money selling gas, beer & cig. than when I worked In a dialysis clinic...Go Figure...

nicely, you already be responsive to the optimum! it is the worst that that value ought to convey. Now for the sturdy information, maximum courts won't bypass to the optimum penalty for a 1st offense ... until eventually you have been using whilst intoxicated, then look for the optimum penalty attainable. you fairly could desire to attend until eventually you're sufficiently previous to drink legally. the themes you need to reason your self by employing underage ingesting are merely not nicely well worth the thrill alcohol supply you. That 6 month detention center term could be a significant buzz killer, does not it??

I don't think you'll be in a huge amount of trouble. But you did break the law. Hopefully you just get a warning, maybe a fine. .

Do whatever the court says to do, pay the fine, and get on with life. Learn from your mistake, don't dwell on it.

Get your wallet out because you are going to need it when the court is finished with you.
