You are so wrong..
Cats can walk...and they can play at the park!
I have 3 cats and each one of them will walk with me and play around in my backyard..
You can also teach cats to fetch, give high fives, train them to go through obstacle courses and many many other things.
Another reason why people love cats is because they are very independant and have very unique personalities. They are very affection and lovable..They are also very beautiful cats..
So yes cats CAN do many many things...You just dont have any correct information about them and automatically assume things..
To bad for you...your missing out on alot of fun and love..

You cant play with them??? Yes u can. lol and also because they need someone to love and care for them. Someone has to do it. You'd be surprised how they all have unique personalities and they DO bond to you. Some are playful and funny some are very very smart .. just like dogs. My cat comes when i call for him and my other cat only goes to the bathroom outside he will sit at the door and meow for u to let him out he will go do his biz and come right back when hes done. Dogs get overwhelmed with emotion and run away like goofballs. lol Some cats even like to play fetch my friends cat does. It all depends on your personality though.. if u are a home body person relaxed who likes to chill and likes an indepenant animal then a cat would be for you. if u want something who likes to be told what to do and be brainwash then the dog is for you lol :P
P.s my other cat knows sign language he knows what it means when i sign " no" ( i am deaf)

I have a Bengal cat. He fetches, plays hide n seek and takes his turn in line with the kids running through a red blanket in a game we call "Ole". He notices everything new in the house or anything out of place. He greets us when we come home and gives us the cold shoulder when we get back from a weekend away. If one of us is sick, he lays on the spot that hurts the most. Very comforting unless it is a headache because he refuses to get off. His favorite show on TV is animal planet. He stalks the Gazelles and leaps at the TV then swaggers away like he is the king of the jungle. He sometimes hunts down my husband when he comes home from work. My husband has to be on guard since he never knows which direction his little buddy is going to dive on him from. They rough each other up and my man accepts every scratch with great pride in his buddies great hunting ability. I can go on further but I think you get the point by now....

They do all of these funny things. Jump into trash cans, or play with random objects, bonk their head on the table and go rushing out with a horrendous meow...They love to cuddle, they are pretty and nice to watch when there is more than one. I love a kitty rubbing itself along my legs and hands, licking me when there is a trace of treats on my hands or playing with me when I rub their belly. I love cats. And they are NOT pointless. You should go visit someone with a cat. Try holding the cat and petting it. Yes, some people walk their cats. It's perfectly normal. People walk their ferrets and I have even seen a rabbit on a harness.
Cats are cool pets. So are dogs. They are both part of my life. Can't imagine it otherwise without either!
EDIT: I have taught a cat to sit, lie down and show me where her pillow is. It took time, but she does it, and I know she is smart enough, and SHE knows she is smart enough. She is really cute though... Good kitty!

Cats are good companions believe it or not. They will cuddle with you. You can play with them and you can teach them things. People just don't have patience with them sometimes cause they are very independent. Some people think cats aren't smart but they are very smart, if they don't come to you that's because they don't want to. If they want to they will. If you get more than one it's funny to watch them play fight and chase each other especially when u give them catnip. Cats are easy to take care of too. They make purrfect pets!

They don't often have a high opinion of us, either. They hide, and sleep about 34 hours per day. They don't bark at burglars. They won't fetch the newspaper. You can't teach them tricks.
And they are extraordinarily good company when you're sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. The cat will come up and jump into your lap, or brush your leg, and suggest that you would both benefit by providing him with a bit of a scratch under the chin.
They're highly interactive beasts, and though they're not nearly as demonstrative as dogs, they're a world unto themselves.
And ours catch mice.

Cats are pets ( companion animals). Cats like dogs provide companionship in exchange for food and shelter. Besides, Cats have assisted humanity by get ridding of rodents for thousands of years. Cats have been very valuable to humanity as companions and their natural rodent hunting duty.

Because they chase things and make you laugh. If you get the right breed or cat, they can be really friendly and sit in your lap. We have a leash for our cat and take him outside, so that is an option.
