So you can spray your roommate with pepper spray, cause the other people in your dwelling to endure the spray and then lock yourself inside your room? Just how wimpy are you?
I am not sure it is 'active'; however your little stunt or refusal to cooperate may generate some future action. You've done nothing but salt the wound. Luckily Police Officers are of a higher caliber and will not hold a grudge; however Police have exceptional memories.. and where discretion may be in order.. I highly doubt you will be on the receiving end of it.
You spray someone, then lock yourself in a room and are afraid to take claim for your actions... well..
Let us know where you end up moving to and if this is your house.. let us know how you're making the mortgage now that everyone else has moved out.
Grow up.
I wish you well!

Report will probably be turned over to the local prosecutors office for a decision on the merits of bringing charges. If they decide follow up is in order then so be it, detectives will be questioning you.
If roommate does not follow up on complaint there is a good chance it will be swept under the rug.
Many juristictions can wait as many as 5 years before charging on a felony.
Law enforcement has better things to do.

The complaint will stay active, but perhaps shelved after more important traffic takes priority... would be my guess.
But your name will stay flagged.
If I were you I'd apologize, hand your roommate a can of pepper spray and tell him to go for it. Maybe then he'll agree to drop the complaint.
Your solution is to save the court the trouble and fix this yourself by stepping up. If your roomie retracts the complaint the cops will most likely not push it. There are bigger fish to fry.
You sure are lucky you still have all your teeth

First off your lucky your roomates didnt kick your butt, the police may drop the matter if know one files a complaint, consider yourself lucky if thay dont. They could have kicked your door in if they wanted without a warrent.its a judgement call if they felt someone was in danger. They might have decided it was a prank, but I wouldnt let my guard down they may come back and this time I would not try to hide from them.and I hope you learned a lesson from this pepper spray insnt something kids should be playing with.

That depends on if they think that you had something to do with it. Most times the Police will not give up until they have gotten to the bottom of the complaint so chances are if they suspect that you were the culprit they will be back for answers.

It will never go away. They can charge you with it based on what they observed and what was reported to them.
That gives them probable cause, and they can issue a summons to you or arrest you for the crime. If you fail to appear for your court date, then a warrant will be issued for your arrest, and you will go to jail.
Act like an adult and take responsibility for your actions.
