Use warm compresses frequently. *washcloth with warm water*

If you are a female, make sure that you do not wear eye makeup while you have the sty and replace any eye makeup that you do have. If you reuse it, the sty could come back.

Stye Removal Surgery

Like in the eye?

A stye from like contacts is really easy. There is a cream called Stye that comes in a tube in a small box. It is a white box with red letters. Just put some of the paste on a Q-tip (don't touch it it's sterile) and apply it to your stye. It should go away. I've had tons of them.

What? surgery? I've never in my life heard of surgery for a stye. Not even a doctor visit. Go to the drug store. Go to the eye care aisle, buy the little bottle of cream called STYE. Yes, that's what it's called. It's in a white bottle/box with red writting. And don't wear eye makeup for a while.

Hot compresses at least twice a day. Your eye doctor can prescribe eye drops also. My husband has one now, when to eye doctor and was told if the hot compresses and medicine didn't work, SURGERY MAY BE NECESSARY. (So the people who answered saying surgery isn't required are wrong....because sometimes it is).

Good luck. If you haven't seen your eye doctor yet, I recommend you do... if the stye is bothering you, affecting your eye sight, is getting worse instead of better, or you've had it a week and has not improved.

Surgery can be a possibility, I've had it done twice now.. That was after the warm compress and the hot teabags didn't work. Surgery is really not that bad.. just put aside 2 days to recover at home...or else you will look like Tyson punched you in the eye.

I didn't think surgery was ever recommended for a stye, assuming that you're referring to the red bump on the bottom lid of one of your eyes. They usually go away by themselves, but you can buy over-the-counter medication specifically for that problem that will make it go away faster instead of just waiting.
