I can't get rid of my sty. I've had this one for two weeks. It comes and goes for months at a time. I went to the doctor and was prescribed doxycycline three days ago, and my sty is still here. I soak my eye with warm water during all of my free time before and after work. I massage my eyelid. I clean my eyelid. I apply warm water compresses. I've done just about everything I can think of, short of cutting my eyelid off with a steak knife. Does any one have any better suggestions?

I would get a second opinion and PLEASE don't cut it out, because you sure would rethink that decision later.

Don't cut it off! One thing you can try is, go to the store and get chamomile tea bags. Place a few in some warm water, let them soak, then put it on your sty for 10 minutes. Do this a few times a day. I always get stys and this works for me.

get some milk in a bowl. Cool is good because it will soothe your eye. (but, not freezing cold,...just use common sense !) Submerge your eye into the milk. Open your eye in the milk as you would underwater. It will flush debris out and generally coat your eye and give you relief. Don't mess with your eyes too much. If you have a "condition", such as pink-eye, it's contagious and you can spread it ! If the sty is on the edge of your eyelid, you can scrape it off like a pimple. It is a relief instantly, but be very careful. Don't let the "stuff get all over in your eye. Have a tissue ready. I have used a sharp edged tweezer and my fingernail to get it. But you have to have a steady hand.......or you'll put your eye out !

You should try to pop the sty. I know it seems cruel to tell you this but its true. It's like a pimple on your eye skin if you don't drain it it will keep on holding in that bacteria it is being infected with. Also the less you stimulate it the faster it will go away after being popped or sometimes before. When you touch it the blood goes right to it, replenishing it, dont touch it so often. Try to ignore it to keep from touching it. I know it hurts but you have to allow your body to use the meds the Dr. gave you too. Sometimes those meds can take days to begin working, they don't tell you that but it's true. Anyhow good luck.

This is going to sound gross but it works for me, it is an old home remedy. Pee on your finger and rub it on the sty. It takes about a day and the sty will go away. There is something in the pee that kills the sty infection.

Sounds stupid but heard it works if you have a cat or know anyone that has one rub their clean paw on it. Good luck!
