It all originated back in the 1930-40's when actresses began portraying blondes as dumb in movies. There's no factual basis for the whole "dumb blonde" thing, but it's just something that has stuck with blondes.

Not all blondes are dumb. They are like everyone else. Although when ever I goof at something people tell me that my blonde roots are showing. I have dark brown hair. If you are a true blonde then the best thing you can do is to know your stuff. Don't let anyone start making snide jokes toward you. It doesn't help when you guys have people such as Pamela Anderson & Anna Nichole. It's the same with Polish people. They seem to get a lot of bull also.
Keep your chin high and ignore the rest.

hollywood made it that way hunn, unfortunatly for blondes thats the way it is. Since many blondes are outgoing and bubbly, they are often protrayed as dumb. This sometimes is true, but in many cases it is not. For example i have frew riends who are blonde, many are very outgoing and bubbly and they have their moments where they can be a little dumb. We all do though. Blonde hair makes a person seem more childish, as it is associated with youth, while brunette ahir for example is seen with seriousness. People like Jessica Simpson do not help this either.

cause they're know for being more ditzy and therefore dumb. not sure if its for the natural blondes or also to the fake blondes but either way they are looked at as dumb. not all are, look at Lauren from the hills.

Well..... Many popular people or "good looking" people can lot's of the time be known as blondes...whether it's a wig, dyed hair, or real hair color. Blondes seem to be known as the "hotties". And as you probably know most popular people (blondes) or hotties aren't known for their brains just their looks. In fact, most blondes are thought of as stpuid just because they are popular. And yes,this is considered to be steriotyping. Just because someone is blonde doesn't mean their stupid.

Because many of them are "bleached" blondes that require time and money to not look "real" or like themselves. They should be doing something more worthwhile with their lives. Such superficiality automatically equals lack of depth.

Because it became politically incorrect to have jokes involving various ethnic groups (i.e.; Polish/Pollocks), those who perpetrated such jokes chose another group to ridicule... Even though many of the jokes are applicable to any group, ethnicity, hair color, etc., people.
