My husband was installing a radio on a boat today and it was a bit more involved than he expected, so he had to do some drilling...and now he has fiberglass splinters in his hands and arms. He tried using packing tape on them to get them out but he didnt have much luck. Does anyone know any tricks or secrets? I really appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

If you know the area they are, apply some duct tape, firmly over the area and leave it sit for a few minutes. rub the tape several times to get the fibers to stick. pull it off slowly and the fibers should come with. Also the wax you use for hair removal works well.

Am I the only one that misread "splinters" as "spinsters"? Which may explain why I wasn't surprised when I saw that red cherry had starred this question, Either way, you should definitely go with red cherry's advice on spinsters and hard wood. j0e

i know this is not what you want to hear, but i would reccommend visiting the hospital or doctor. you do not want him to leave fiber glass in his skin. the bad thing with glass is, if it gets far enough and gets into your blood strem, it could travel to vital ogans, such as your heart. pleae have them removed professionally to ensure that no other emergency will occur. good luck.
