im a senior almost 17 & i like this kid thats in 8th grade. before you answer this with- "umm hun you ned to forget about him and get yourself a high school boy" listen to what i have to ask. about 2 months ago my brother & his friend joe hung out at our house a lot. like all day and sleepover basically. at first it was cool cause we all would get along but then joe started becoming really flirty with me. example of his flirtyness- pick me up over his shoulder just because (this happened on more than 1 occasion), we had tickle fights and other little stuff like that. & then my friend jill met him and saw how flirty he is with me. one night, jill told me that he definatly has a little crush on me. i have asked my friends what i should do. should i like him or definatly stop liking him. i have tried to stop but i keep thinking about him. what should i do??

i would really appriciate it if you wouldnt be mean about this

I'm sure it's flattering to have this boy have a crush on you, and I suspect that he is good looking for you to feel this way.

The attraction that you are feeling for him is purely physical and a result of your hormones and other body chemistry. The fact of the matter is that you need to date boys your own age.

It is a matter of the emotional maturity of the boys you date and your need to grow more emotionally mature yourself. To do this you need to date boys your own age.

The reason for dating in your teens and early 20's is not just to have fun and give and receive affection. You are learning how to relate and get along in a romantic relationship so that you have the necessary relationship skills when you get married, to stay married and be happy. You have to date boys your own age to do this.

Another reason for dating is to go out with a number of boys/men to experience what it's like to be in a relationship with guys that have different personalities and different values. That way you can learn by experience what would be the best kind of guy to marry and be happy with.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that you date guys that have personalities or values that you already know would be bad for you.

I hope that something I have written has been helpful. I've made many mistakes in my romantic life and had a lot of heart break because of those mistakes. I hope you will not make the same mistakes I did.

My best wishes to you.

There r so many other things to do in life . I am not mean but i want to say that it is wise to b cool & think why r we here? only liking /love is not the ultimate passion in life but so many other important goals to achieve which can be benefitial for others as well.

Hey I think that kid is just starting to like girls and you are probaly the first person that he thought of as cute. If he says anything involving dating and you think he aught to be your boyfriend then bring it up, but otherwise i would just ignore him.

Age is just a number, if you really do like him then go for it. Don't live with the "what if". If you feel that it is right it is all your choice and his, not ours or your friends, anyone, just you two.

im not trying to be mean, but that is disgusting. i mean he's just hitting puberty. you shouldnt even be looking at guys that age. its gross and morally wrong to go after such young men.
