My daughter is going to be driving within the next few months. I was curious to know if anyone can fill me in on how much my insurance is going to jump up to ensure her. Also, would it be cheaper for me to just add her to my husband's and my insurance policy or get her her own policy. Just trying to save a few pennies where i can.

1) Phone your insurers, quote your policy number, ask them what it would cost extra to add her to your policy.

2) input her details on the form here http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.htmlyou will get many quotes from many USA insurers then see if any of them is cheaper than the price you were quoted when performing 1).

3) Considen one thing: If she was to have even a small accident while on your policy you would then lose your no claim bonus so from there onwards you would have to pay more to even drive yourself.

It will probably be in your best interest to add your daughter to your own policy. If you have multiple lines of insurance with your current agent (home, life), your daughter will be eligible for these discounts that she otherwise would not get if you had her on a stand-alone policy with another company. It's not difficult for your agent to give you a quote to add her to your current policy--just give them a call for more details.

Check with your insurance agent. If she is an occasional driver, it will probably be something like double what you pay now. If she's the primary driver of a vehicle, it could be even more. Her own policy would probably be more expensive than adding her onto yours.

But if your agent is any good at all, he or she should be able to answer your question quickly.

Good luck.
