This year I want to make my daugther her lunch every other day, but I don't know what is okay to make for her. Can any one that have kids that go to school help me. Or if you are not a parent yourself you can help me by telling me what were your best lunch that your mom made for you. Thanks!!!

My 5 year old daughters favourite lunch food is ham and salad or chicken and salad pita bread wraps. I just fill them with all her favourites like tomato, cucumber, lettuce, sprouts, grated carrot and then cooked cold chicken (left over roast) and wrap it in pita bread (like burrito wraps) and its so healthy and more fun than a sandwich. Also boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, jatz crackers and pieces of cheese, and yoghurt all go into her lunch box. We make lunch everyday at her school but that is in Australia. There is no caffeteria only a 'tuck shop' at school where they can go if the parents give them money and get stuff like meat pies, sausage rolls, chips, lollies, drinks and iceblocks. Its more of a treat thing than an everyday option.

My mum also had a 'treat box' in the pantry and we could choose one thing to add to our lunch box everyday, and the rest had to be healthy foods. There were things like crisps, small chocolate bars, mueslie bars etc... in there and that ensured we never just ate junk and it was more appreciated also.

My kids all like their sandwiches "Lunchables style" which means I cut the lunchmeat and cheeses into little squares. If I'm feeling adventurous, I use little cookie cutters. I make "flowers" out of carrots or cucumbers and will make apple sticks. I have a bin for snacks that they can choose from. I don't include anything chewy and sticky like fruit roll ups or gummy anything. These things are high in sugar and get stuck in their teeth. This can cause a lot of cavities.

They can choose a juice box or sometimes I get the chocolate milk that doesn't need to be refrigerated (I do make it cold for them, though).

When my daughter went to Pre-K last year she couldn't have anything that contained nuts of peanut butter, so I had to get a little creative. First, I bought her one of those thermoses that you can put food in (not the drinking kind) and I would put easy mac (sometimes with hot dog pieces), ravolis, spaghetti-os, soups, etc. I would heat it up a little hotter than I normally would in the morning and put it in the thermos and she never complained :) One of her faves though was when I made english muffin pizzas and wrapped them up and she ate them cold at school.

My daughter likes cookie-cutter sandwiches with celery slices and apple slices. She's 4 though, and that's her favorite lunch to take to the park.

I've heard tales of peanut butter being un-allowed, and tuna salad gets bread all mushy.

I make her sandwiches that are either pbj, tuna, egg, or cheese. I always put in fruit, drink and a treat. I also will put in chips or crackers.

Her luch box is insulated and I put her drink in the freezer and add a cold pack.

My girls bring lunchmeat sandwiches, pudding or fruit cups, and string cheese with a drink. They're concerned with what's healthy and good for them, and pay attention to their calorie-intake.
