Don't let the child eat so much, try offering small portions. If your child is still hungry hand it some fruits and veggie sticks. My main concern is why a child that young is under that much stress. They need to be not in situations were they get so stress that the have to eat to find comfort. Maybe you will need to seek help for the child.

Three year olds are not in control of their world.
How they handle stress is what they figure out for themselves.

It's up to you as the parent, to lower and manage the stress in the household.
It is also up to you to teach your child good ways to handle stress, as well as good eating habits.

Some great stress relievers for kids:
Exercise, hugs, back or shoulder rubs, singing, Mom-time,
having a story read to him by parent or grandparent, taking a walk, playing with a dog. squishing mud between his toes in the backyard. Maybe a drink of water with icecubes... and...for you to listen to him.

What you teach him now will make all the difference in the world for your household stress over the next 10+ years.

It could be something to do with a certain spanner in your household,get rid quick-its no good for the child.
