Strangely, my wife is able to make our cat meow on cue, by talking in a very high voice. What can I do?

This is a cute trick. However I think genetics are against you. your wife is capable of making such a high pitch sound because of her female vocal cords. Since you are a man, your vocal cords a thicker and deeper. If you think about this in terms that most women have a higher set/pitched voice then men. A cats hearing is very good and very sensitive. In general dogs and cats can hear much hight sounds then human ears can hear. Example...the dog wishel...yu cat is most likely meowing due to some type of sound/cause and effect. If you can get your voice pitch high enough you may be able to do the same. Good luck

Maybe ur cat is hard of hearing and can only hear high frequency noise! I am hard of hearing and I can hear things opposite of that. Some of my friends can only hear high freq ency noise. You be surprised how many animals actually have a hearing plm alot of people don't ever notice. Truly!
On the other hand, my cat meows constantly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
meow meow meow meow meow thank god I am not hearing I'm sure it would drive me nuts. Some people think that its because he heat but that's not true because his mother is the same way and hes been talkative like that since he was a few weeks old! Genetic I guess. If your cat not deaf then my best guess is that your cat has a strong bond with your wife. sweet!! OR
possibly got that trait from its mother or her "baby daddy" lol

Some cats will talk to some people but not to others. Or it could be that your cat thinks your wife is meowing- sort of.

Try talking to your cat. I've found that often my two will meow and chirp back to me too- especially the male, who is very definitely a vocal fellow.

I don't know if you can make a cat meow. Mine's very vocal as it is--she squawks when I talk to her, when my boyfriend visits, sometimes when I pat her. Some cats are more chatty than others.

you're attacking this problem. the trick is to force your wife to talk in a high voice by throwing cold water on her or something, thus making the cat meow by effect
