It is a case of monkey see, monkey do - when an action occurs among people or animals, it triggers thinking about the activity and triggers like behavior - a person yawning or stretching makes others think of the condition and notice they need to do the same thing, perhaps a bit earlier than they would have on their own.

it's not a disease, it's a primitive way of communication. it's instinct to yawn after other people, because thousands of years ago it was used for something else.

Maybe its diabetes because yawning (or becoming sleepy) is one of the symptoms of diabetes.
