Actually yes it is - most adult cats don't need milk and some will actually get diarrhea from drinking milk - we're talking about cow's milk here. If you feel that must give your cat or kitten milk, then give it goats milk which is much easier to digest for the cat and less apt to give it problems. You can usually find it canned next to the evaporated milk in grocery stores and even sometimes fresh too. Or if you're lucky and live in the country, maybe your neighbor has a herd and you can get some that way What will all the chemicals and things given to our dairy cows now, it's probably just as well that we humans don't drink milk either! LOL

While a little amount like a teaspoonful won't hurt adult cats too much as long as they are healthy, cow's milk can really hurt kittens or sick animals. If you really want to feed your cat milk, buy some Replacement Milk for Kittens at a pet store. It's a dry mix that you can mix up a little at a time with water and it won't hurt your cats or kittens. I was given a tiny, nearly starved kitten several years ago and I kept giving her the RMK until she was nearly 8 months old because her bones where so tiny from being starved as a kitten. The only problem might be that adult cats would get fat on it because it is high in fat.

Yes. Cats lose the ability to digest milk when they stop being kittens. In fact, too much milk can cause cats to have diarrhoea.
But like the others said, as an occasional treat, it should be fine. How much? I'd say be cautious, so perhaps a teaspoon or less. (Yes, that seems stingy but try to remember a cat's stomach is pretty small as well. And it's better to be careful than to let it have the runs.)

The cow's milk that you buy for yourself isn't really good for your cat as it can cause complications, diarhea and gas at best, worms or illness at worst. A small taste every once in a while shouldn't hurt though. If you really want to give them a milk treat with nutrients that are good for them, you can buy cat milk at a pet store. Once again, be careful not to give them too much or too often.

It's a great thing they get stronger from it I feed my cats milk everyday and one of them is really old and didn't die when he was locked in a shed for a week and a half because of the milk. But don't feed them it if they are allergic to it. Ask your vet if it's a good idea first.

Cow's milk is not good for most cats, I know it gives my cats loose stools and bad gas. But they DO love it! I have found a substitute that all three of my cats love in the store called CatSip. It comes in a small box and I use it for a treat.
Hope that helps!

Cows' milk is meant for baby cows. Goats' milk is made for baby goats. Cats' milk is made for baby kittens. Don't give your kitties cows' milk, as it will make them sick and they really don't need it.
My cat used to go nuts when I ate soy ice cream, and I let her lick the bowl when I was done. My vet said that in small amounts the soy probably wasn't bad for her. You can buy the six pack of tiny boxes of soy milk and see if your cat will drink that. Try to find an unsweetened brand, though, as sugar is not good for your cat either.

Cats, especially kittens, can get diarrhea from drinking milk. Bad idea. There is special cat milk for cats (not kittens).

Most cats have a problem with lactose intolerance ( I say most because there are always exceptions) and it tends to cause upset stomachs and/or vomiting.
A little milk here and there isn't going to do anything drastic as even the intolerant ones have a taste for it.
