That IS the REAL AGE!!!! Do you go to the vet and when they ask the age you say "45"???? No of course not. The cat has been alive almost 8 years and that it the age! The "cat years" thing has no bearing at all!!

What you do is take the year 2007 and subtract 1999 from it and you will get your cats age. Your cat is 8 years old.

cat "years" are the same as ours.. we all live on the same planet, which takes 365 earth days to rotate around the sun.
cats and dogs just "age" more quickly than we do, so that is why people made up the confusing 7 years to our one. it's stupid, imo.
