Killing someone within the context of war, particularly if they attacked you, is not murder.

The 2 do not equate. Murder is the unjustified taking of an innocent human life, such as a contract hit, gang killings, killing a person due to culture, abortion, etc. War is not murder and, in this case, not unjustified.
Remember that God had the Israelites go to war against the people who worshiped false gods and committed human sacrifices, specifically killing newborn and unborn children for fertility rites.

God said thou shalt not murder, was the orignal word. That doesnt mean we cant defend ourselves in war or when peroanlly attacked> Thats not murder, thats self defesense. IF we allow the enemy to win this war, you wil not be free anymore and yet I bet you are somone that yells about your rights being taken away. huh? When you dont live in a christian country, you wont have the rights you now have, and which we are quickly losing many ourselves already. If someone wants to kill us we can self defend. If someone wants to destroy our country and our righ to be free, we can self defend. God is against murder, including abortion, taking the life of an unborn baby, as that is murder.
I pray ppl willl pray and begin to think. murder and killing are very different according to God. If I kil you cuz I dont like you that is murder, but if you come to my home to kill me and I dfend myself , that is not murder.
God gives us the right to self defend. absolutely, and no we best not walk out on this war, or we can kiss it all goodbye. Wake up america. Wake up world. we only do what God says, not anyone else. and yes I am against the death penaltiy also. nor do I kill animals for food.

Confused. If we withdraw the troops we will not have to worry about the religious implications of killing during a war.
I am for staying in Iraq for some more time, but I have not heard anyone say we will "sit there", I think you mean disarm while withdrawing. Actually those proposing withdraw have clearly stated we will not disarm during a withdrawl.

NO, military action is NOT MURDER... Our military is ACTIVELY DEFENDING the Iraqi people, helping them to establish the rule of law in their own country. Our "war" IS NOT AGAINST IRAQ, BUT CRIMINALS IN IRAQ AND ELSEWHERE who hide among civilians and are not "soldiers."
This makes the military action difficult, and it becomes even more difficult when the civilian population refuses to stand up and deal with the CRIMINALS themselves or provide military and law enforcement units the intel they need to capture or incapacitate the CRIMINALS. Fortunately, there are fewer and fewer places allowing the CRIMINALS to hide while they plan and execute CRIMINAL ACTS against our forces and Iraqi forces and civilian targets.
but we are making great progress.
The New Testament records this Q/A between some soldiers and John the baptizer:
Luke 3:14 “What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied, “Don’t extort money or make false accusations. And be content with your pay.”
Nothing was said to indicate that military service was intrinsically wrong, rather, they were instructed to deal honestly with people.

Well yes, that is exactly what it means.
In the book of Acts we read the account where the apostles are before the high priest to be questioned. The priest reminds them that he had expressly told them to stop teaching. In reply the apostle Peter said the following:
"We must obey God as ruler rather than men." -Acts 5:29.
Jesus also told us:
"Whoever wants to save his soul [or, life] will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake will find it." -Matthew 16:25
In a nutshell, Jesus' words here mean that trying to save our present life by breaking God's laws would put us in danger of losing eternal life. So one must ask himself which is of greater value...your present life (that will most likely end shortly....because you are in the middle of being attacked by the Iraqis) or the future life...the "real life" (1 Timothy 6:19) that Jehovah God has instore for those obeying his word.

We aren't spose to go out and murder people that true. The Bible tells us to submit to our goverments as long as they aren't ask us to do something against the Bible. God sent a lot people into different wars in the old testament.

An evildoer is exempt from this. You don't have to worry about the wicked. They get theirs naturally as part of God's justice.
Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus, but did not shed a tear for the thieves on the crosses beside him, knowing they were getting their justice.

No, of course not. God expects us to protect our families, homes and country from the terrorists. It would be wrong only if we started a war over something that was not for our protection. Which is not the case and did you know that you can't just talk to terrorists and ask them to be peaceful???.

"Thou shalt not murder" is in Exodus 20.
Read the next chapter for a better explanation of it.
Murder is forbidden. (First, second degree, premeditated.)
Killing is not.
The Commandment is given to the people for direct personal application. It is not given to them to prevent self-defensive actions.
Genesis 9:6
"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."
