That is precisely what I wonder, Ms. Sigy. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer. The "affected" will be great- paticularly children of undocumented. Where I live, there are few women that are immigrants, but, a lot of citizen women that have children with undocumented men.
Of course, I also don't think that blanket amnesty is the answer either.........

It would depend on the family, who they are? morals, values why their here? to survive, for money. how long they been here? 20 years when there was only a hundred illegal immigrants. their past? crimes, metal history. their future goals? get enough money for a visa, education, just to survive. where their from? 200 something different counties, and other factors so yes to hurting some and no to the rest.
1. I don't want to get rid of illegals either. I don't even have any in my family or know any. And I pay taxes every year, I pay property taxes ever year, I work in construction and don't use them for cheap labor, I'm not worried about my jobs in construction being taken.
2. They did not commit a terrible crime if they did their would not be so many. the people you should be more concerned with are the ones that did commit real crimes that are still unsolved. but you don't hear about the wanted millions of murderers, rapist, thief's, that are free to kill, rape, and steal another day. unless another serial killer gets caught some are still free. or another rapist gets caught some are still free. or another thief steals billions in stocks but some are still free and these are the born citizens of the U.S.
Approximately thirteen million people (approximately 5% of the U.S. population) are victims of crime every year. Approximately one and a half million are victims of violent crime. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/
there is a big different between non violent crimes and violent crimes try and do a educated comparison

Unfortunately, the illegals themselves put themselves and their loved ones in this position by coming over here without proper documentation and chancing deportation. Illegal is illegal no matter how you slice and dice it.
Sorry that families are getting split up, but they knew the risks coming over here illegally, and hey, the rest of their family CAN follow them back to Mexico.

This is a lame question. The terrible crime they committed was marrying the illegal in the first place. No illegal has the right to be in this country. They should be deported. Children and spouses can go with them if they want.

What about the spouses and children of murders? What about the spouses and children of sexual offenders? or white collar criminals? addicts? dealers? alcoholics who drive? And so on and so on. Although one may feel some sympathy for the innocent who have been hurt by the actions of their spouses and/or parents, it can't be taken into account by the law. Are only those who commit crimes and have no families responsible? Of course not. Unlawful actions must be punished. Period. The perpetrators are the ones who have created the injury to their family by committing illegal activities. Judge them guilty.

The same thing could be said of the children and spouses of ANY criminal. The criminal made the choices and, many times, the families suffer also.
We cannot ignore crime. We cannot bury our heads in the sand and allow laws to be broken.
Every country has immigration laws. Every country enforces them. Period.

The spouse and US born child can go back to the father's country with him. Problem solved. No breaking up families and getting rid of the illegal criminal alien.

It is unfortunate also when a crack dealer mom gets busted and she has 3 little ones in the house... Child protection comes in and the kids are stripped from her. They are innocent. The most heartbreaking thing to see I assure you. Mom made the decision to do what was illegal. There are consequences to all our actions. If there weren't, what would our society be but complete caos?

How about the other crime of them having to be stuck poor because they get taken advantage of. Can not really get a good job if you are illegal, or you end up stealing some else's social security number to get work.
