Don't do it it will explode! over twenty years old and set in it's ways. Start cranking up the power and start looking for another car. With out a complete engine rebuild do not add power adders. Exhaust and intake options will make nice noises but don't expect much power increase. Back 22 years ago the cars were stupid slow and underpowered. That 3.0 165 hp engine grew up to 3.5 liter 350Z and now has 306 hp. Money better spent would be preforming modifications to a newer car.

There are a couple of things you can do,
1. Sell it for a better car
2. Nitous Oxide maximum of a 100 HP kit or you blow the engine
3. Turbo it.
4. Realize that either way you go you have to spend the dosh to do it. I would suggest you get a better platform to start with.

First performance car build should be something you can buy parts cheeply for. A 25 year old Z car will be hard to restore back to stock much less do a retro modification. A Chevy or Ford is much simpler to buy performance part for. Good Luck

Put a turbo charger in it. Replace certain parts of the body with carbon fiber.(i.e. hood, mirrors, fenders) Put "z" rated tires on it.
