Look real yes. Feel and function real no. Especially the lower plate which the muscles of the face fight to just stay down. Smiling, chewing, talking can dislodge the plate so much so that many result to having to use dental glue. Did you know that after your teeth are pulled the bones begins to deteriorate?

I have dental implants they act like the roots of teeth. My teeth are screwed onto the implants and cannot move nor can I take them out. I clean them like one does natural teeth. If you can not get the kind I have why not consider saving your money to get at least 2 to hold the plate still. The implants will keep your bones healthy. A denture can be modified to snap onto the implants and will look and function like natural teeth.

Just a thought.

I recently had a full dental clearance done because of bad teeth due to bulimia. I have full dentures and it's only those who know I've had it done that know they're dentures. No-one else knows. The "teeth" are a creamy white colour and look really natural. I'm far more confident in talking and laughing and needing to show my teeth than I was before as the teeth were all broken and rotting, not nice. My breath is also alot fresher as well.

You need to have a good relationship with your dentist, if you need dentures they will try to match as closely your natural teeth to the dentures. If your not registered with a dentist, ask your gp if there is a NHS dental access centre near you. The dentists are really good and also help with nervous patients.

Your regular dentist can work with you on this, my "eye" teeth were quite pointed, (I got teased about being part wolf ot cat) when I developed what the dentist said was "hollowing of my teeth" and I was going to have to have dentures my dentist took pictures of my real teeth before I had the surgery to remove them. He matched the color and the shape of my own teeth, some people have no idea they are dentures. If you have a picture where you are smiling and you like the way your teeth look take it with you and see if they can "redo"
your plate. The other option is having implants done they are really expensive but boy do they look good. I keep trying to get that winning lottery ticket so I can have mine done, but so far no luck. :-) Having your teeth look good makes a world of difference in how you feel so get back to your dentist.

I had dentures fitted only 5 days ago. Of course, there's nothing like having your own teeth, but I tell you I am so happy with my new ones, they look so natural and though I'm not yet biting into solid food yet, I'm eating things like pasta and melon without problems. I had mine from a top dentist in London, and worth every single penny.
