Design Question - Brown Throw Rug on Off-White Berber Carpet?

Hi there,
I bought a v modern condo, most everything is off-white (carpet, paint) with black kitchen applicances. Found a dark brown wool rug on sale at Pier One for dirt cheap so I lugged it home. i like earth tone colors but wonder if y'all think that a solid throw rug on white carpet is too strong contrast. i only have two soft lime green bucket chairs, a subdued red japanese trunk with a gold monkey on it as a small side table, and an oversized black chair w/ottoman that serves as couch - this has very small light brown, off-white polka dots on it. they're all hand-me downs and i'm making do.

i really like the shag throw rugs with speckles of colors but can't afford that now. any design ideas for around this rug on a budget? or save the budget, return it quick... thanks!

Save the budget - return it quick!
You already have off-white, lime, red, gold, and black in one room. That's plenty.
Suggest saving your money for things that tie the room together, and can be used again.
Like:
area rug with off white, black, and gold
black and gold print/flower/stripe throw pillows, and drapes
brass framed paintings, posters, photos
Brass or iron candlesticks, with red or lime candles
Iron, or brass ornaments - vase, clock, lamps, flower pots

I think the rug would probably look cool. If you think it's too bold, you could use some accents that match other things in the room.

attempt oxiclean. blend it with water and then practice on your carpet. this ought to do the trick yet rinse it sturdy after the water and oxiclean..have you ever tried white vinegar? they are announcing this works too.additionally those new tide pens takes stains out. i think of you could purchase those pens at any food market or Walmarts; ok marts. besides i'm stocking up on oxiclean, tide pens and vinegar.
