In a way yes. In another way no.
There exists the contemporary mythology of things like when someone dies, certain ones will say "It was his time", or when referring to children that die, things like "God needed another angel".
These concepts are both wrong because they attribute to God, the things that make us sad. Like death and dying.
Yet, in the other context, all things happening for a reason, is true.
Yes, we die. Yes, our children die. But the reason is because Adam and Eve, had rejected for all of us the intervention of God, when it comes to the whole issue of death.
We, were not intended to die, yet, because the first pair rebelled, we inherited death.
Yet, all is not lost.
We do have the bright hope of the end of death. And the Resurrection of our dead loved ones.
Yes, while the majority of people have accepted that dying is normal, the truth, which is becomming ever brighter says, that it is not normal, and that soon, death will be overthrown.

One thing I have found is that things DO happen for a reason, most time it's more than ONE reason! The trick is to be in tune with the reasoning process! But this requires a subtlety of reasoning and mental capacities not generally cultivated by regular people, hence it is not accessible to most people!

I do think all things happen for a reason. You can find a reason why everything happens. People do things because of their character or lack of character. Earthquakes happen because of instability in the earth's plates. Hurricanes happen because it's part of the overall pattern of the earth's cycles. Global warming and ice ages happen for the same reason. Everything happens for a reason.

Not completely... I do believe that a lot of things do happen for a reason but this general law is by no means perfect and there are plenty of things that happen for absolutely no reason.
