I think guys have a harder time for three reasons: 1 - they are not as good at venting their emotions; 2 - girls have a different kind of relationship with their girlfriends, who help them through it; and 3 - guys must once again risk rejection to begin dating again, whereas girls usually just wait to be asked.

My opinion is that girls have a harder time dealing with a breakup and that's why they jump from men to men so fast. Their other girlfriends having a b/f and they don't is not a good thing. I know waaaayyy too many women who aren't even divorced a month and they already have a new b/f. I'm sorry, but if I break up with a g/f, I don't have a new one in less than a month. A woman who doesn't have a b/f must be looked upon as being wrong, but I don't see that.

you can't really say, some men are very emotional and some girls are masculine, it depends on the character and experience.
