I am NOT giving the following answer because I am pushing any kind of faith or religious belief.
Yes and no. Yes the Bible can be a text in school because it is a historical text and one of the first books that records history. No, it should not replace any other text book.
The Bible can be looked at as a primary document and as long as the instructor is not requiring that the students accept it as a faith, it can have educational value.
It is often studied in university--and not just at religious institutions. A book that has influenced the structure of major civilizations cannot be over looked when one studies history.

Are you serious?I hope you're not...it must be a joke.
It's an absurd,how can you say that?The bible isn't a school subject...what a horrible idea you had...!
Oh,instead of learning math, science, geography, history and important subjects, the students would learn things coming from the bible, that can't even be proved in the real life. The students would become dumb or very limited because of the bible...a "good" idea,if you want to destroy the student's education at school and the schools too.

It really depends. If the words in the Bible proves to be more capable at healing the sick and diseased than say, medical textbook, sure.
The question of religion vs. science or any other type of such discussion is meaningless. We use what works the best, and currently, established academia is doing far more at saving suffering people than any religious text in the world.

No. Neither should the mythology of life by chance.
Basically, both sides of this story should be decided by the parents of their respective children.
Known and observable science should be part of the school curriculum but bio genesis, and evolution as the story of how lifeforms changed into other animals, should not.
Evolution, as the adaption of life within an animal family is true and provable, and thus should be taught.
I know this may be upsetting to some, but, if something as controversial as religion, and conversely something as controversial as evolution (the evolution that says all animals evolved from other animals) should be left up to the parents.
Just because people believe in the unprovable evolution doctrine by means of the whole 'peer review' nonsense, they should recognize that to accept the peer review process ( basically 'voting')as fact, would also mean that by means that they would have to accept the creation doctrine as teachable in schools, by reason of the fact that more people believe in it than in evolution.
IF life by chancers can not see this, than they can not really see the logic of their own argument, as it applies in the reverse.
It would be more prudent, and beneficial for society in general, if the schools focused on the skills that are actually important for the students to become competant and functional in this world.
Creation or evolution (life by chance) do absolutely nothing to help a person execute a career succesfully.
Reading, writing, and math, are what are needed to succeed in holding a job, and feeding one's family.
If the life by chancers insist upon indoctrinating kids in school with the theory that only has 'peer review' as it's proof of truthfulness, then they must submit the fairness of presenting the alternate theory.

heck no. Our schools are bad enough as it is. Think about it. If only the bible were taught in schools we wouldn't any of the great medical, technological, and scientific breakthroughs that we have. While I'd be all for adding a philosophy of religion course to middle and high school ciriculums I am not for teaching the bible only. Not everyone believes in the bible and don't forget we're supposed to have seperation of church and state in this country. Key words being "supposed to"

Yes they should, and when Japan, India and every other nation in this world is going FORWARD in time, towards the future, our kids will be stuck in some classroom mulling over how Issiah wrote a poem about Jerusalem. Come on give me a break. Our kids are dumb enough with the crap they have to go through in school, and now you're gonna take away ANY and ALL chances of them keeping up in this world for your OWN gratification...damn...selfish ain't yaz?

That would be really stupid. Consider places in the world were the other religious books replaced all the text books in the classrooms. Look how well those places are doing !!!

The bible belongs where it is "at." With people of religion, not "reality.' Hasn't anyone learned anything from the muslim countries who have taught nothing more than the Qu"ran ? The only realities to these peoples when they grow up is the fanaticism of their religion which is NOT living in the REAL world. It is not good for mental health, nor the serenity of persons who wish to live in peace in the world.......

You are deliberately being either sarcastic or silly aren't you?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa.
Yeah, chuck out the textbooks and fill the schools with Bibles. Pile up the Bibles in pyramid form on the school playing field and cover them with petrol. Then light it and watch the Bibles burn. Lies to fire. Lies to fire. Ahahahahahahaha.
Then take all the christians and pile them up in a pyramid on the school playing field and cover them with petrol. Then light them and watch the christians burn, hear the christians scream, smell the christians cook.
Then get all the dead, cooked christians out of the fire, wash the petrol off, dry them, and make a heaven sized pizza, send it to the 3rd world and feed millions.
Then bring back the text books.

that is funny
I assume you also want students to not be allowed to actually read the bible but rather have someone up in the front of the room to be telling them what it sez
You would be re-creating Eggs Zactly the same situation
that brought on the dark ages and inquisitions
me thinks the world still needs a bit more time to recover from the last time that type of situation existed
give poor Mother Nature a breathing break please
