guessing you wanted to BUY the car and not bud it, LOL, Sorry, I know typos happen. My guess is there is something big wrong with the car that they are trying to hide from you. Have it inspected anyway if you are very interested in the car, but if it is not that big of a concern, I would go to another car lot, this one sounds crooked.

It is not only a RED FLAG on the car it is a RED FLAG on the dealer. If I may suggest go to www.bbb.com which is the better business web site and check out any dealer you might be considering doing business with. I will tell you a bit more as to how I found and bought an excellent deal on a Crew Cab Diesel Dully. I paid a 90 day membership to car fax which made it possible for me to run as many cars as I wanted through this period. While I had it I ran all my cars, my friends and families cars as well. I searched country wide for exactly what I was seeking in a new vehicle. If you are wise and patient you will find in time a deal that is being dumped to the market because of divorce, death or other such reasons. In my case it was a truck bought for the woman by a previous man and the present mans ego couldn't stand it. I ended up with a Dully with under 50,000 which in diesels isn't even broke in yet for only 9,000.00. I paid 1000.00 to have it shipped and 100.00 to car fax to have it inspected top to bottom. End of story I got after expenses a truck worth 3000.00 more then I spent all costs included. It still runs like a HORSE! Regardless what you are going to buy search out the company with Better Business Bureau first. It is a free service online.

I wanted to buy a car a few years back, and asked the same thing. The salesman told me no, and that the government safety inspections were bogus, and if I needed anything done, they could do the work at a discount. I never went back. They went out of business. Yes, huge red flag, the car could be an improperly rebuilt wreck, it could have a nice sounding engine with 20 tins of STP in it, who knows, but only shady people are scared to let their vehicles for sale be inspected.

That's the kind of bull that gives used car salesmen a bad name. You have the right to have a mechanic inspect your car prior to purchase. don't buy it. There is a way to go on line and check a car's history but that would only be if it was had an insurance claim. this car probably has major engine trouble.

It is a load of bull and against the law for him to suggest that in most of the 50 states. MAJOR RED FLAG! I would have to ask what he is trying to hide? I would suggest you move along to the next car lot and tell your buddies about it so everyone you know, will not be tempted to buy from a shady fool like that.

any person who will not let you run a title check, vin check, mechanic check or test drive is hiding something. Walk away and find another car.

Professional mechanics are insured and should they accidently damage the car during the inspection, they are required to fix the problem "to the owner's satisfaction" or pay the resonable costs to repair. On top of that, any reputable dealership would automatically carry a general liability insurance contract that covers things not covered by other insurance. Sounds to me like someone is under insured, possibly illegally under insured.

He probably thought you meant you wanted to take the car to "get inspected", to get an inspection sticker - which you can only get after you buy a car.

If you want to have someone inspect a car's quality before you buy it, you need to take that person to the car dealership and have them look at the car there.

The kind that allows this guy to sell cars to dopes and clearly, you are no dope.

Now, maybe you cannot buy an inspection sticker for it if you're not the owner but there's no reason not to be able to get a second opinion by getting someone to inspect the car.

New dealer, please!

RUN..... that's a blatent lie. don't deal with these people at all. always insist on driving the car and run the ac and heat for a long time. get the vin # and look up car sites ( i don't remember the name) and u'll be able to find out if it's been in a wreck, etc.... if someone doesn't have the title and tells u they will get it to u after u buy it.... RUN.

do not go back to that car dealership, they will rip u off.
