Very few insurance companies cover anyone with existing conditions .
And legitimate ones that do will be over a $1000 a month .
If she applied for Social Security Disability , she will get Medicare 24 months after the SSDI starts .
Sorry about that , but medical care reality suckkkkkks .

If you are refering to COBRA benefits running out, she may now qualify for a portability policy. These are individual policies that require no medical underwriting, and her pre-existing conditions would be covered. Portability plans are very expensive. I suggest a high deductible plan such as an HSA, (Health Savings Account,) qualified plan. In Arizona such a plan would be $600-$800 a month, $5000 deductible, Blue Cross of AZ. You must apply in the state you reside.

Well, she's going to have to get them through Medicare - once you're on SSDI for 27 months, you're eligible for Medicare.

That's going to be her only shot, unless your state has a high risk health pool - some do. No private company is going to take her on.

She could try her state's high risk pool if she cannot get any state funded insurance.
