You can blame the pet store to your heart's content, but it won't do you any good. In the future, don't give your business to them, go to respectable breeders, or better yet, the local shelter where there are tons of lovable, needy animals that could use a good home.

You can definitely blame the pet store but unfortunately, that is the price you pay for getting an animal from them. Pet stores are pretty much just in it for the business and not for the care of the pets. Right now your main concern is to get your kitten to the vet and get yourself to the doctor. In the future, it is best to go to a local shelter to get a new pet. Here, you are required to fill out an application, and the shelter makes sure that the pet has all its shots and medical attention.

Best of luck to you.

Some pet stores are nothing more than puppy and kitty mills.Never get a pet from a pet store unless they can prove the animal has had at least it's first set of shots and has been checked by a vet.It will no good to blame the pet store as you are the one who bought the animal without checking it out first.

Cats are well known for carrying ringworm. You can't blame the pet store for this. Even breeders who have to deal with ringworm have a difficult time- as it is able to live in the enviromnent for up to a year, infected animals can be symptomless carriers, and infect other cats, a simple trip to the vet can infect a cat. No good to blame anyone- treat the cat, and enjoy your pet. Next time consult a breeder and use a black light to view ringworm which will glow apple green. :O)

***edit**
Confine your kitten to one room of the house, to make it easier to treat, and less likely to spread to you. Wash every time you handle your pet. If your cat is put on griseofulvin, be sure to have a blood test done half way through the treatment, to ensure that the liver is functioning properly.
Your vet will want to do another culture after the course of treatment is completed because as I said some cats can be asymptomatic carriers. Wash well with soap and water everytime you handle the cat to reduce your chance of contracting the fungal infection.
I have treated cats with lyme sulpher, however you need to be sure to dilute it 1 part lyme sulpher to 50 parts water, or it will burn your cats skin.
You can also use itraconazole (sp?) It is not yet approved for use in cats, but is considered to be safe and perhaps more effective than griseofulvin. (which I personally do not consider safe if blood work is not done, having lost one cat myself who was on this treatment)

Ring worm is a skin disease. You can catch it from your cat. Your vet should be able to tell if your kitten has ringworm by putting it under a light. If you caught it from your kitten I would say the pet store is responsible. Was the kitten sold with a health certificate/

I would. Before selling pets, they should be given an exam. When you buy a pet from any where else, usually they let you know what has happened to the animal in advance. I know what you're going through. I have had ringworm from cats, and it is gross.

The pet store probably had no idea it had ringworm. You should get it to your vet asap before everybody in your house has ringworm.

dont buy pets from pet stores. They are inbreed animals and most of them are 1/2 brain dead or infected with something.but take the cat to the vet and see if they can do anything.

well, if you bought her fully knowing that she wasn't up to date with her health care, I would say no. Why didn't you ask about the inflammed anus when you got her? BTW: I hope you have thouroughly cleaned every surface in your house.

You need to take it to the vet immediately. How long have you had the kitten? You needed to start it on it's routine shots immediately.
