Why people make fun, I don't know. But don't let them get to you. Just ignore them (heck, even turn your hearing aid off if you don't want to listen to them). Or, maybe explain to them what the hearing aid is and what it's for? Uh...

I'm almost 22 and wear a hearing aid too.... But I'be been wearing hearing aids since I was almost 3 so I'm pretty much used to this sort of situation. I find it easy to just ignore people, and if they keep on going, go "deaf" so you don't have to listen.

It depends I guess on who it is. If it's someone you can laugh with I guess that's OK. People often do that because they don't actually understand what it is or why you have it. It is true! Lack of knowledge is often the cause. Because of this it may be good to educate them. Tell them what it is and why you have it. Maybe even let them try it.

Good Luck
