I read and heard from a cop that when your 17 you can move out cops woudln't do anyhting sbout it?

You are not of legal age until 18.... so if you want to move out , the police can come and get you , if your parents want you back that is............

usually how that would work is that you get an emancipation from your parents. you have to prove to the courts system that you can provide for yourself, such as being able to hold a steady job, put a roof over your head and be able to pay all your bills on your own, and still be able to continue an education. it's very rare that teens are able to do this because you also have to have a legitimate reason as to why you want to move out before the legal age of 18.

Actually, it depends on where you live and what the age of majority is in your state (some are 16, 17, 18).

Wrong, your parents are responsible for you until you are 18. If they want to be jerks they can report you as a runaway and have you arrested.

No, you need to get emancipated. But when you do, you become resposible for your own rent, food, medical etc.
