does burnin the tip of scissors kill all the bacteria??

i dont mean about aids particularly, but any other that can infect? and for how long should i burn it?

Certainly - it will kill everything on the tip of the scissors. You should try to clean the tip of the scissors first, though, because grime on the tip may shield the underlying bacteria from the heat of the flame.

You should keep the tip of the scissors in the flame for no more than 5-6 seconds because you risk the formation of carbon on the tip after that.

Use a weak bleach solution. Kills bacteria and doesn't heat up the scissors. Why are you clean the tips of scissors anyway. Doing some surgery?
