my friend has two chihuahuas, a girl coco, and a boy spike. coco is 9-11 months old (i know shes less than 1 year old) and she got pregnant from spike (around the same age).
Will she be okay if she is pregnant too young? How old r they suposed to be?
and if they r pregnant how long does it take(humans take 9 months).
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is way to young tell your friend to go to the vet and get her aborted. She may need a c-section, will your friend beable to affored the $2500.00+ vet bill for a c-section, PLUS all the costs of puppies an dmama dog. this is very irresposible of your friend.
A dog should NEVER be bred before 2 years old. At 9 months its like having a 11 year old human pregnent.

This is like breeding a 12 yr old human. She may or may not survive. Dogs should not be bred until age 2 and after health testing.
Gestation is 63 days.

Dogs should not get pregnant until they are at least 2 years old. Your friend really should spay the dog immediately because giving birth that young could kill her.

im not oin to cry and whine and say you need to spay and neuter your pet because your an adult and can make your own decisions. But the proper ae when I like to breed my chis are 18-24months old. If she is 9 months then im sure she is hittin her 1st period and ALL GOOD chi breeders know NEVER to breed your female on her first heat as she may have MANY complications during and after her pregnancy. It also take 58-62 days for prenancy but you are safe to say her due date is 61 days after the last mating.
