A friend I had know for three years asked me out. I went on three dates with him before we slept together; it was my first time. He later told me he wasnt looking for a serious relationship but it wasnt about sex. This was two years ago. He recently sent me a message that didnt mean anything. I responded to his message, but he didnt send me a reply. I want to get back together with him. What should I do? And why did he get in touch with me after so long?

Initially you could send a text to say hi and take it from there. If he responds, make sure you think very carefully before replying or asking anything too demanding at such an early stage.
It's difficult when you think of someone so dearly after any length of time, when seemingly they have moved on and out of your life, but trying to make something happen is a BAD move.
If he thinks anything at all about your past involvement, he would, eventually, give you some sort of sign or make it feel easier for you to contact him. Don't expect too much too soon and don't pin all your hopes on positive responses. Just try to remain friends for a while and see for yourself if you have a future with him. Take care.

Ask him why he got in touch after so long. And I guess as you still have his number in your phone and he yours, after all this time, maybe you are in with a chance? Tell him how you feel instead of waiting for him. What's the worst that can happen? He could say he doesn't feel the same way, but hey, at least you know then and can move on and forget about him.
