I'm afraid when you call the police you'll find out that getting them to do something about it is difficult. People witout driveways find it very hard to see what the problem is when they fail to park properly next to a driveway. If you had a dropdown kerb and the parking next to your drive is a parking bay but people are parking beyond the parking bay, contact the Council's Higways Dept and ask them to double yellow line from the end of the parking bay and across the front of your drive. I wish I could tell you that there is an easy answer, but getting the police involved may make matters worse; like I said, those without drives have a hard time understanding how difficult all of this is.

I'm certain this is called 'causing an obstruction'. It doesn't matter whether you are in your driveway or not. I don't think speaking to him will help. He can't be blind so he knows he is parking in front of your driveway. It is probably just thoughtlessness. It never ceases to surprise me how thoughtless people, particularly drivers, can be. I like the idea given of going to his door at all times and asking him to move his car. My son-in-law had to do this when he had the same problem and he was on early shift. The neighbour soon got fed up with being woken up at 4.30 a.m.
This really is a matter for the police to sort out. They might not like having to get involved, but you cannot continue with this behaviour.

No; you have to have access and egress to your own home. Have you approached him about it? If you haven't, be polite the first time, saying "I don't know whether you realise it, but you are often parked in front of my driveway, and I can't get in or out."
If you have already spoken to him and got no joy, try keeping a record of the times he blocks your driveway, ask him to move it each time, if he doesn't comply, you can ring the police and complain. They will have a word with him, but hopefully it won't get that far.

No. He is parked illegally. Speak with him and ask him politely not to do it. If he wont comply, speak with the police and tell them you have tried to sort the matter amicably, but because your neighbour is unreasonable, you are asking for their help. Highway code specifically states.... you must not park in front of an entrance to a property.

No your right of way should not be blocked. I suggest you have a pleasant word and ask if he can avoid parking in the particular spot. I bet you get a mouth full of abuse, but at least you have tried. Now you can go to the police and report the problem, commenting that you have asked that they do not park there.

No. You are being wound up. Next opportunity you get, if you have good insurance, just reverse into his motor. Thats not allowed either but it will stop him doing something like that again!!! If you don't want to be quite so unpleasant, you could just park your own car in front of your drive way for a bit and see if that stops any nonsense.

Simply scatter drawing pins over the entrance to your drive, then see if your neighbour parks there again. Remember to move the drawing pins before you drive past, perhaps placing them on the seat of your neighbours car.

In my city it is illegal to park within 4 feet of a drive and you can get a ticket for doing so. Call the police and inform them of the offending vehicle; they will know exactly how to proceed per the ordinances in your own city.

two options - call the police or,
get a cheap banger and park it in your drive and the next time he parks in front of your drive just drive it straight out and into his car then you can claim off his insurance for damaging your beautiful car but he will have to pay for everything because his insurance won't be valid as he is parked illegally - his insurance company will sue him for your costs!
