I am getting worried about my dog. Today i was petting her and she was yawning. and i saw that her gums are starting to go from pink to black? is this normal for a 4yr old dog?

i checked her gums again a couple mins ago the black is coming around her canines and bottum of her bottum front teeth

What breed?.. Certain dog breeds would have black gums come in .. (normally before 4 yrs, but i've seen it happen in an older schnauzer mix).. It really depends.. Some examples would be a Chow, or Schnauzer.. (I'm sure there are more, those are the two I know of offhand..)

If it seems really unusual, the dog won't eat, has pain while eating, or smells bad go to a vet..

daddy use to say that pink met heart worms and black was good my rottie (the one in the picture) has black gums and he is very healthy

I have never seen that happen. I'd get it checked out.

i do not think so. i think you should have them look at by a vet just to make sure.
