Question for Christians concerning supernatural/strange events in my family...?

I hope it's okay to place this query in R&S - several relatives in my extended family (on my mother's side - aunts, cousins and grandparents) as well as my mom, have experienced a lot of strange events, esp. in recent years.

Too many examples to provide here, but I will give you one: 2 years ago my cousin lost her mother to cancer and then her brother committed suicide 1 month later. Since then, she has moved into her mother's home (no one died there) and has heard noises coming out of what used to be her brother's room and has actually woken in the middle of the night to see her mother standing over her...this is just a very minor example of things that have happened and continue to happen in my extended family.

My question is this - is my family cursed? Why do some people experience so much spiritual/supernatural phenomena? It is my personal belief that these events are caused by demonic activity. What can be done to break this trend? Thanks for any help/advice you can give me

Something else I'd like to add is that I find it interesting that it's always the women in the family who have these experiences...is there any significance or meaning behind this?

I have many more examples if you need them.

I appreciate all the answers so far - I do want to clarify that not only am I a Christian but so is my entire family on my mother's side - it just puzzles me that a Christian family would experience so many weird occurences.

If we look to biology, the female human has a statistical propensity for higher communication levels than the male. In modern times we even make jokes about that ability to communicate. It stands to reason, then, that women may be more able to communicate through extrasensory avenues than men.

I am sure that God has, from time to time, used that innate ability to communicate with women and men who have the skill. The Bible has shown times when God communicated by dreams (mostly to guys), and other times when "The Voice of God" said something important to someone. One can glean from these examples that others nearby did not hear anything, so perhaps God's Voice was not manifest physically.

But, we must keep in mind that if God can tap in, so can Satan.

Generally, I would imagine that if your family experiences are of comfort to the ones receiving them, or if they convey important information, perhaps they are of God. If they do nothing but scare or confuse people, I would guess they come from Satan.

The bible tells of people with interesting abilities that came from spirits and demons. It shows Jesus casting these spirits/demons out, and the person returning to normal.

We have been warned to stay away from spirits and demons and to abstain from the occult.

Now, please understand, my family is endowed as well. I, myself, have had some inexplicable events of communication. What I do is accept the information, then pray on it. I pray that God gives me the discernment to tell if the message is of God or Satan. I also ask God to continue to protect me from Satan's tricks.

Usually within a day (or sometimes two), I have my answer.

We can't say for sure what caused those noises your family heard. All I can tell you is that we moved into a house once that we were told was haunted. The previous owners told us what they experienced and saw at our house. One of the stories was they said one night an eerie 18th century horse drawn carriage drove around the house then disappeared! Was I afraid to stay in that house, to get up in the middle of the night and go to the bathroom? You're darn straight I was! So I went in every room of the house and prayed. I told any spirits to leave in the name of Jesus and never to return. We lived in the house for 10 years and never had any kind of supernatural experience. But you have to become a Christian before you can do that or it might back fire on you as it did on the men in Acts that tried to cast a demon out of a man in the name of Paul when they weren't Christians and the demon attacked them and ....... well, you get my point.

Sorry Higherlovetx. I didn't mean to imply you weren't a Christian, just making sure in case you weren't that you didn't do anything dangerous to you and your loved ones.

I wouldn't say your family is cursed, but I do suggest that you pray over your family regularly. After so much loss, I'm sure everyone could use some prayer and consolation right now.

I know someone who can shatter all of those evil spirits and who can give you a meaningof living. His name is Jesus Christ please listen because if you want a solution he is your only guide and protector!!!! For people like your relatives that have lonliness there is a cure. I used to be self-centered, selfish, and was sometimes lonly. Well I tell you Jesus Christ loves you alot and he came to die on a cross, he was stabbed, whiped,spit on although he is king, he got betrayed, and he was tormented alot. Jesus loves you alot and you need to seek him. Accidents and hard things that we pass through life are to be learned from. You should gain faith, seek help, humble youreself, ask God for guidance, and much more. Please attend a church that has a deep relationship with God. Christian Churches have a deep relationship with God. Read the bible and accept Jesus. You can cast all of these evil spirits out by claiming Jesus blood over your house and kicking all evil spirits out. This is something that you can say,
" I claim Jesus Christ blood over my house and over my body. Jesus Christ's blood has power and I throw every evil spirit in this house out! I invite you Jesus Christ to come into my house and heart. Please cure all of my wounds.I claim Jesus Christ blood over every door and every window in this house. I claim Jesus Christ blood over my body, I declare this house a house of Jesus Christ and I declare myself new and clean. In the name of the Father, the Son, and of The Holy Spirit, Amen."
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU WALK IN EVERY ROOM AND DECLARE JESUS CHRIST'S BLOOD IN THAT ROOM AND PUT CHRISTIAN MUSIC ON. ONW OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO IS TO PRAY TO GOD AND TO ASK HIM FOR GUIDANCE AND TO THANK HIM. Let me know when your relative is safe and has found Jesus Christ. PLEASE SEEK HIM AND PRAY TO HIM HE IS THE ONLY PATH TO GOD AND HEAVEN I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WILL HAVE PEACE ONCE YOU DEEPEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, PRAY TO HIM, AND READ THE BIBLE!!!!!
