As cats wean themselves from their mothers, they lose the ability to digest the lactose in milk because they no longer produce the enzyme lactase. They become lactose intolerant and develop an upset stomach and possibly diarrhea from drinking cow's milk.
You can see if they like plain yogurt. Cats also love plain, cooked chicken if you want to make them a healthy treat.
If you still want to offer dairy, go for heavy cream (not the sweetened kind but the plain stuff) or unsalted butter (not margarine but the real stuff). Commercial cat treats are unnecessary and are full of preservatives and odd chemicals as well as simple carbohydrates that cats do not need.

Milk is not good because it does not contain enough fat for the cats and that can give them stomach problems. If you want to give your cat a treat once in a while try heavy whipped cream or condensed milk without sugar. Tip: a spoon full of vegetable oil in the food twice a week keeps the coat nice and shiny.

Cats can't digest milk. It's not *bad* for them, they're just lactose intolerant. My cat get milk from my cereal bowl about once or twice a week. (Just a little bit though b/c too much can cause digestive issues.)

Cats are lactose intolerant so it can give them diarrhoea which of course isn't desirable. It might not cause a problem, but there's no point in risking it, especially when there are better, healthier treats. If you really want to give the cat milk as a treat, get cat milk from a petshop - no lactose.

Giving cats milk all the time can be bad for their digestive system. Once in a while might not be bad. I'm a big fan of giving my cats tuna juice...it helps keep their coats shiny and they love it. If you want to give your cats milk go to a pet store and buy them some milk specially made for cats...less than $1.00 for a box or can....

Milk isn't as sturdy for individuals as usually theory. regrettably the milk marketplace gained way too lots capability and has confident human beings it quite is a needed part of food. even even with the shown fact that, it is not. there is a few calcium in milk, yet far greater calcium in broccoli. vegetables have continuously been interior the human weight-help plan while milk has no longer. it is the reason some human beings are no longer able to tolerate milk. human beings are additionally the only species that drink different animals milk. ******merely study your updates. in case you had a call between milk and water i could pass with the water. a good variety of human beings do no longer drink sufficient and water is a necessity. As for soy, i do no longer propose that. that may no longer as healthy as many have faith it to be. it somewhat is merely how the soy marketplace markets it. i could drink milk over soy, yet nevertheless I truthfully have a soy hypersensitive reaction. Soy has been shown to reason thyroid issues. it is utilized in practically each thing at present because of the fact it is dirt affordable! those whom say milk is sturdy have possibly in no way been unwell and have in no way researched milk, yet are suckers of the milk marketplace.

A few years ago, my cat went nuts when I ate soy ice cream and liked the smears on my bowl. The vet said that it wasn't bad for her in tiny amounts (which was all she had). If you can find an unsweetened soy milk, see if your kitty will drink that.

It really is. Cats are lactose Intolerant, like some humans. It gives them a belly ache and frequent bathroom breaks, if your catching my drift. So if you want to give them a treat, try some, well, cat treats.
