Well, I'm 14 And gunna start my first year of high school. I haven't talked to an orthodonist about getting braces yet either so I'm probably gunna get them on DURING high school. Most of my friends already had braces and got them taken off already.
Is it normal to get it at that time or what?
Will People look at me different?
Will guys think I'm unattractive if I start school without, then and then later on get braces?
PLEASE HELP

Hi do not worry i didnt get braces untill i was 16 and had to have them on untill i was 19! No body will look at you differently and your friends will get used to you wearing them and it will just become normal. Good luck

Don't worry - believe me you won't be the only one in braces. Believe it or not, its become a status symbol! I know another hygienist who worked in a boys school (a very high ranking one at that!) and the kids would stretch out large paper clips and string them across their teeth just to look like they had braces!! I have some patients who needed them at 9 and others at 14, it all depends on your needs, everyone is different. Just be sure to keep your teeth clean and FLOSS! Its a pain in the neck but you won't be sorry - you don't want a bunch of decay after the braces are off. Believe me, the boys won't care if you have braces. I had them as an adult and my husband never saw me without them until two wks before we were married! Good luck!

The average age for people to get braces is usually between 12-15... It depends on how long it takes for ALL of your permanent teeth to come in, and this varies from person to person. More and more adults are getting them as well these days.
People shouldn't look at you any differently than they did when you didn't have them, and if they do, then they are shallow and they weren't true friends to begin with.
If the appearance of braces bothers you, they have different options. For example.. clear brackets or invisiline trays. You can talk to your orthodontist about which option is best suited for you and your particular situation.
Just think about the result you're going to have in the end... beautiful, straight teeth you can enjoy looking at for the rest of your life.
FYI... the first thing most people notice when meeting someone is their smile, and yours will be gorgeous after orthodontics, so who cares what other people think about braces. This will be beneficial to you!!

Hey kiddo, not to worry. Now they have braces that are clear, pink, blue and many other cool looks. You will actually be making a fashion statement which is always very cool. And remember, that cute smile of yours comes from the heart, not the mouth!! Mine were on at 11, off at 15 so you are totally normal in that regard. good luck and keep 'em good and clean.

It is perfectly normal to get them at your age! You will look adorable!! I love braces on people of all ages adds a charector, Trust me when you have straight perfect teeth you'll feel like a million dollars!

Braces arent that bad. Only really shallow guys will think that you are un-attractive with them one. and Just imagine how good you are going to look when you get your braces off!

People can get braces at any age. You are never to old for braces.
