I come from the M.A.Brown family. We're millionaires, my father is anyways. My father is the main source of income for our household. But my mother wants a job because she is bored with her life. She started working at KROGER and i was totally disgusted. How could she degrade my family so much? Anyways, the rest of my family was okay with it because well..as long as theyre rich it really shouldnt bother them.
Next part of the situation. Last year i was HARASSED by a retard employee at Walmart. It was all over the news. We had a lawsuit on them but at the last minute we decided to not press charges because we have better things to do with OUR time.
Now, the is the part that gets me PISSED. My mother, who i do not associate myself with anymore because she is TRASHY, wants to switch from working at KROGER to working at WALMART. I cant believe this, our family is so high class...how the f*ck could she even want to do this? She OBVIOUSLY doesnt need the pay! JUST WHEN I THOUGHT SHE COULD

CHILL.
Its not really the fact that shes working that bothers me. Its the fact that she wants to work somewhere where last year i was HARASSED at and got my feelings hurt.
Plus I'd really like it if she got a WAY better job so i wouldnt be embarassed telling people where she works at.

Its no more trashy than asking questions in YA. If you were really so high class youd be seeking the advice of a professional not a bunch of wannabes like me.

I can understand you feel betrayed that your mother would work at a place where you were harrassed, but think of it this way too;
Wal-Mart didn't harrass you. The employee did! You can't blame an entire company for what one person did.
Have you spoken to your mother? Have you told her how you felt and explained to her it's not that she's working but where she's working?
Also, sweetie, I think you need to get your priorities straight. I know you've grown up rich, but working at Kroger or any other place does not make anyone trashy! Money and class have nothing to do with each other. Class is about integrity. It's about the way you treat people. I know some very classy people who work for nine dollars an hour.
Working at Kroger doesn't degrade your family. If anything, I think that she should be admired for that! And I think you need a lesson in real life, because this is your MOTHER and no matter where she works, you should love her for her, not for her job.
Welcome to the real world, kid. Someday I hope you'll learn that money isn't everything. My advice? Talk to your Mom and get a real job! Maybe you can work at Wal-Mart together. :)

hmmmmmmmmmmm
I done tons of thinking about that class issue
Its complex
Often when people have some money, they think they are better than everybody who doesn't, cuz after all they can pay em to do things mostly, right? sort of
You and your Mom are lucky to have the stability and security and vacations and money and good food and cars that run and servants or whatever. Your Mom maybe was feeling like she was nobody , since it was your Dads money, so just to go be in society and earn money and be told she is worth something, not just her money. Maybe someday you might feel that too.
If you can use the advantages you have to discover what you enjoy doing, and then goget paid to do that, then you will have chance at a good life. Be a professor maybe if you can.
Work a year at Walmart first though, or be a waitress or whatever. You could benefit from an attitude adjustment. I'm serious. If you can deal with real working people and respect them as equals, then you will have a better life. Whatever you choose to do.

You need to grow up and realize that you are not all that important to the world. Your father might be worth a million, but could be broke in far less time than it took to make the money. Remember, your dad has the money, not YOU!!! Maybe you should go get a job and start to humble yourself, I think your mother is a classy woman, for working for her money. OH, by the way your language tells me that you are not classy at all, but the trashy one, and disrespecting your mother because she has a job. By the way show some respect for people that have medical conditions out of their control. YOU SOUND LIKE A OBNOXIOUS LITTLE BRAT.

Respect your mothers decision. Why would you hate her?She is the woman who went through nine months of pain to bring you into this world and for once she wants to do something with her life you have to go and be all unsupportive. Grow up and stop thinking of yourself as "high class" .Its so stupid when people think highly of themselves when infact they are nothing more than regular people. Stop being such a spoilt brat!!! You act as though you've got all the problems in the world.Open your eyes and look around at all the suffering.UGH ,you give rich people a bad name.
booohooooo you got your feelings hurt

I wouldn't be angry at all. It is never a bad thing to work an honest day's work and get paid.
I wish I could talk to my mother. She passed when I was 17 and she was 36. I'd even be happy to go see her at Wal-Mart.
I really don't think your mother working should be a problem for you. Since you are so high-class, you really shouldn't have to stoop so low as to go to Kroger or Wal-Mart.
You need to SERIOUSLY work on your tact. Talk with your father about this. He should be able to help.
Good luck and best wishes.

I think you seriously need to grow up! Just because someone works at a grocery store or Walmart does not make them 'trashy'. I don't care how much money you make, you are no better than anyone else. Take a lesson from your mother, she has more class than you!

I wish a high class family could have instilled better morals and values into their son. How could you associate someone with wanting to work to pass their time with being trashy? I feel sorry for your mother.

you are the most self centered person ever! obviously your mom is bored, money doesnt buy you everything you want and it sounds like you should work at a place like walmart just to see how truly lucky you are to even have money, there are so many poeople who dont and you probably insulted a lot of people with your question.

If this is true, and I doubt it, the low class one in this little story is not your mother. It's you. Your snobbish, elitist attitude is disgusting. If you're lucky, your family will cut you off financilally and you'll have to learn how most of the world makes a living.
