I've been looking to buy this product but cannot find it online because I don't know the name. I used it once at a chiropractor's office and loved it.

It's battery operated and it consists of multiple "electrodes" with sticky surfaces which you place on your skin on the area of the body that needs "work", and then it delivers electric pulses to that area and actually tires out the muscle so that it will relax. I know these are available for purchase outside the chiropractor's office because I've seen them here and there in catalogs but I can't remember which catalogs or what the name of the product was.

Thanks for your help.

The portable battery operated one is most likely a TENS unit. The big plugged up one in the chiro office is a EMS or E-stim unit. TENS help stimulate nerves, closing the pain gate in your body, meaning it numbs the area to reduce pain. While the EMS works along with muscles. This is so because its able to reach different frequencies compared to the TENS.

You may be referring to a T.E.N.S. unit. It's actually a nerve stimulator, but it helps break the pain/muscle tension cycle, thereby causing the muscles to relax.

It's a TENS unit. My late husband swore by his and used it all the time.
