Why do some of you Atheists feel the need to constantly talk down to and about others? If that is your belief then fine. But others do not have to think the way you do. Dont care how smart you think you are. When this life ends it wont matter. And you can be as intelligent as anyone in this world, but no one truly knows if there will be anything after we die. But I for one, would rather live life believing in God, and living morally right and such. When I die I dont lose either way. It doesnt cost me anything even if God does not exist. If God does happen to exist, then well, some of you are screwed.
And saying that some book smart Atheists dont believe in God doesnt prove anything. Sure they were intelligent and did some good things but really, what does that prove? That supposively all their views are correct? Nope.
This is a stupid "question" by an ignorant person.

Yes, I'll go along with the quote from Thomas Jefferson. However, I still find the metaphor of Minerva's birth to be a useful one. And, for that matter, I find much of the story of Jesus to have value, as well.
Many of us in Mensa have a spiritual path of some sort, but most recognize that it is not to be understood in the same way as scientific truth is understood. It is metaphor, symbol, a useful focus for meditation and development of the individual in connection with what is beyond the individual. You may see God as an old man with a long white beard, but almost nobody believes he really looks like that. Few even believe he looks like a human, except for those who take seriously the line about "in his image."
But even the very most intelligent people recognize that it is possible to postulate some type of consciousness, awareness, let's even get bold and say "mind" that is of larger scope than an individual human. We may be a part of it, the way the synapses in our brain are part of us, or we may be separate in some way that is not possible to describe while we live in "flatland" compared to it. I suppose that would classify us as agnostics rather than either atheists or theists.

Not to be rude, but it doesn't matter what anyone’s IQ is, that will not and does not make someone a decent or moral person. We could spend all of our "childhood" going back and forth with quotes from people on both sides of this issue, but that will not get us off the "playground" will it?
Let's get down to the real issues of religious beliefs, which no; will not make a person less educated than you - simply by becoming a Christian a person will not lose their knowledge gained in school. And no, it does not mean that you have a better education than anyone else, unless you want to try the following argument:
(a) Atheists are more educated ‘because’ they do not believe in G-d.
(b) Atheists are more educated than Christians because they have a ‘better education’.
(c) Atheists ‘want to believe’ they are better educated than Christians
Okay, so if (a) is true than that means as soon as a person becomes Christian all their past educational experiences are pointless. This individual has to go back to school and re-learn everything, because by believing in G-d they have lost all previously gained knowledge. Is it rational to think that one can just lose knowledge like that?
If (b) is correct that would have to mean that Atheists have their own schools. But hold on, I went to college and many of my classmates are Atheists. So, that automatically means (1) I was admitted mistakenly by some administrator (2) those Atheists were going to the wrong school. Does this fit within rational thinking?
That means that (c) has to be the correct assessment. Yes, Atheists want to believe that they are smarter, this is the growing "Atheistic Wager" – “IF the believer has a faith in G-d the punishment is that he or she is going to be illogical and uneducated. The reward for being Atheist is that you are smart, educated, control your own life, and therefore are considered a rational thinker”.
And so the circular thinking and argument process, which for so long has been attributed to Christians, is now, being used by Atheists. We now know that religious beliefs have nothing to do with being uneducated and illogical. It is just an opinion turned circular thinking coined as a fact. Because, this allows some Christians to drop their guard and forget the issue at hand...... belief in Jesus as the Christ is the Way to eternal life. IF the Atheist can get the Christian to feel inferior maybe that will cause him or her to lose their faith or go away. To that end, Atheists will use every method in their arsenal to attack Christians. This is their vain attempt to get the issue onto anything else they possibly can, so that they do not have to face the possibility that G-d does exist.
Edit:
Just wanted to share a Psychological Study that was done on Religious Beliefs

Edit (2):
You'll notice it says "Estimated IQ" -- but beyond that you will also have to notice that a *Theologian - named Arnauld* is listed as have a 190. Martin Luther is listed as having a 170. Charles Darwin is listed at a 165. Albert Einstein is listed at 160.
So, what do you make of those results?

I have an IQ of 140. I've always believed in God because I am intelligent enough to be able to see that even simple biological functions are far too complicated and perfect for them to be the mere product of evolution.
All generalities are dangers, even this one. Saying that ALL people with a genius IQ is an atheist is ridiculous. I also highly doubt that the link you provided is a valid one. It does, after all, say ESTIMATED IQ's of famous people. It also doesn't say whether each one was an Atheist or a Theist.
I have no problem with Atheists, but I do believe you should check your facts before attacking Theists.

Isn't this assuming that IQ tests are actually valid, meaning they actually measure intelligence? IQ tests also neglect other types of intelligence. I caution you to reflect for more than a minute on how idiotic it is to base intelligence on a theoretical number. And statistically, when you think about the world population being about 6.6 billion people and 1% of the population has an IQ higher than 135, that means 66 MILLION people have an IQ over 135.

When devising questions to measure the quotient of intelligence, I feel that several factors were not included. For instance, when Einstein's brain was sliced and put under a microscope, it showed that in a certain area of his brain, there were many connections (the dendrites actually were quite dense) When compared to a manual labourer, they found the same denseness, but in a different area of the brain.
That is to say, although Einstein was considered by the intellectual community as a genius, there are other kinds of geniuses out there that do not fall under the same quotient. I don't think intellectuals could change out their own plumbing, although they probably could have told you how to do it after they had studied some. (comparatively speaking.)

What do u call the miracles which u watch on TV? What do u call those ppl whose lives were changed after they read the Bible? What do u call the high persent of the Bible book being sold every day all over the world?

I will only say the truth...
You can have an iq of 180 and still be pretty dumb in a lot of ways. I don't really care what you think. Thinking you're smarter than anyone else really gets you nowhere. There are always new things to learn and see.
Btw, Thomas Jefferson was one of our founding fathers, who I believe is a Christian. That quote was meant to mean that people would no longer believe in Jesus and call it a fairytale because they weren't there and didn't understand.

Their IQ means nothing to me. Some of the people with the highest IQ"s are actually the dumbest. No one can make you believe in God. Most people who try to talk to you about God is concerned for your soul. They know that a man can believe a lie and hurt himself. Since you do not believe there is a heaven or hell, it would do no good to tell you that denying the existence of God does not prevent you from giving account to God. I recently heard a man say " THERE WILL BE NO ATHEIST IN HELL" Makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

Filling a post with ridiculous made up quotes will not prove a point. It only proves you are either a propagandist or a fool susceptible to propaganda.
I have read Einstein, Darwin, Sagan, Marx as well as Jefferson, Adams, Lincoln and may others.
You are welcome to provide specific documents that your quotes are taken from if you would prove me wrong Collections of the entire writings of Thomas Jefferson are widely available on the web in text format and are exceptionally easy to search.
Your data is flawed and subjective, you present no verifiable reference materials.
As we said when I was in college, a paper without a bibliography is called fiction or opinion. It can never be called fact.
