1) Ask someone what county you are in.
2) Grab a phone book.
3) Go to that county's sheriff's department listing in the phone book.
4) Call that number.
5) Ask them.

Do you know what jail he may be in. If so contact that departments jail section and they will be able to tell you. Also some bigger agencies have a web site where you can look for them.

There should be an intake number at your county jail. They may or may not confirm, depending on the circumstances since you're not a direct family member.
