What rights? They aren't even supposed to be here. They are here as law breakers, not right demanding recipiants. The only counrty that owes these hostile invaders their "rights" is the one in which they invaded from. And my guess is that they broke some laws in the origanating counrty in which they left from as well by illeagally crossing thier own border. International felons. These are the people who are demanding rights? Only in Amerca.

They do have rights. Some rights, I do believe, ARE inalienable, meaning that no nation or country can take them away. As "brian" stated, there's something about that in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence. The United Nations has also indicated a series of human rights. The right not to be killed or robbed is probably in there.

HOWEVER, most of the rights that I hear illegal immigrants demanding are those rights as stated in the U.S. Constitution, which only guarantees protection of the rights of CITIZENS. Illegal immigrants, by definition, are neither born in the United States nor naturalized through procedures, so they are not citizens and as such are not entitled to said Constitutional rights. Rights like voting, due process, privacy come to mind.

The laws of the land still apply within American territory, no matter what your citizenship is, and virtually all nations around the world have agreed to that. This, I think, is what most illegal immigrants either don't understand or ignore.

Illegal immigrants have broken the law once; how many of them will break the law again?

If the President grants amnesty to illegals then certainly people applying for visa and petitions legally should be granted wishes to remain in the U.S. Where does that leave us standing?

I have a strong opinion on this topic because I am a U.S. citizen who married someone on a J1 visa that entered legally. Because he had a 2 year home rule restriction we were not allowed to remain together in the U.S. even after appealing our case for two years. Although the government acknowledged that we were legally married they still denied us. I had to choose between my family, career, and home or my husband. I chose to be with him and left everything behind.
If I must leave the U.S to be with my husband then it seems only right that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay.

Actually your kinda right and wrong at the same time, it is ignorant to assume that these people are only doing the jobs that we would never do, personally I would really appreciate that job in light of my recent financial issues. Everyone disserves certain inherited human rights, but some rights are certainly not designed nor belong to these border offenders, these people do not pay tax's nor do they pay into social security so why shjoudl they get what we have to pay for for free.

There is nothing in the constitution that indicates foreigners, even those here illegally, can't say what they think as long as they do not advocate the overthrow of the U.S, violate standards of decency., or incite a riot. I personally think their protests do them more harm than good because of the backlash.

The other problem is during the mass protests, ICE is unable to identify who is here legally, who is here illegally, and who is legal but pretending to be here illegally hoping to be arrested and embarrass ICE.

While I think you are being a little harsh with your language I agree that people who are here illegally have no rights. Americans have rights, so if you aren't here legally and aren't an American citizen then the only right you have is the right to get the heck out of my country.

How the HELL did someone give Brian a thumbs down for quoting the Declaration of Independence [1]???

Now, yes I think that immigrants coming to the U.S. illegally for the express purpose of receiving socialized benefits is a problem. I also happen to think that legal immigrants and citizens seeking these same benefits is a problem. I think that if we removed the incentives for people to come here to free-load, we wouldn't have too much of a problem with the people who came here to make their lives.

We can have honest discussions about the real issues around illegal immigration, but refusing to acknowledge that certain rights are God-given is an unexcusable betrayal of our nation's heritage.

The basic question is whether rights exist naturally (are inalienable) or whether they are something to be granted (by government or another entity). If you believe that government can grant rights, you must be willing to accept that it can take them away.

You may thank the left for the rights of the illegals. Did you know the amount of money projected to round up all the illegals and send them home isn't as much as they use in government aid in one year?
