Illinois driving permit?

Question

If you are in a drivers ed class in illinois, do you get your permit before of after you pass the class? And if you get it after you pass the class, how long does it take to come in?

Most Drivers Ed classes include a driving section. You must have your permit to participate in it. I have included the link for the info you need.
