your right, they will not "attract" other rodents. maybe you dont show enough responsibility for your parents to believe you will do all the tending to the pig.

Start by having a job or or something that gives you a steady income so you can pay for your pet supplies, Do extra things around the house without being told to. And start with a hamster, they are cuter than a guinea pig and will be less intimidating to your parents. Then you can show them you can care for a pet. This will get you the larger guinea pig down the road.

You SAY you'll take care of it, but you should prove it. Be diligent in everything else you have.
Guinea pigs don't attract rats and mice! And having one won't want you to get any, either. Getting guinea pigs won't make you want to get anything else except more guinea pigs. If you take care fo them and spend time with them you'll realize they're more like puppies than rodents...
Good Luck!.

Try lemonaide stand, baby sitting, cutting grass, raking leaves, pet sitting, or snow blowing. Then you could buy the guini pig your self! If its just that you cant have one. How old are you?? I would let my child get there very own pet at age 14 or 15. Depending on the responibility level. Are you responceable?? If not. Than i dont blam your parents for not leting you.

Show this to your parents.

Guinea pigs dont attract mice or rats. ( I work with animals for a living.)

Guinea pigs aren't that great... they smell. I can understand wanting a pet though. Why not ask your parents to start you off small so that you can show that you'll be responsible. My friend started her daughter off with a plant, from there a fish, and then to a hamster... give it a try. Good luck!
