I'm currently trying to view a convenience store surveillance tape, in order to catch sight of a fight that broke out recently. Because of the four-screen setup, it is difficult to see much of anything on a regular VCR, for the screens are combined poorly, unless I watch screen-for-screen with the pause button. This process is verrrrry lengthy. Is there any way I can set up my VCR/TV to separate the tape into its original four-screens?

Not on a standard VCR apparently because its multiplexed.

You cannot separate those four images. They are a single image just with four grapic boxes. The only way to do this is to "capture" the footage in questions onto your computer, or someones puter and still store it, print out the image as a picture or view it in slow motion. A good video professional may also be able to cleanup the image for better viewing.

Yes, single screen the fight where it started. the other tapes are useless,.....

Use the single tape that has what you are looking for.
