I go to an antique store and there is a sign on the door that says "Help Wanted." The owner of the store has two of the same shop and doesn't work at the one I applied to. I asked for an application and took it home and returned with it complete a half hour later. Everyone was very sweet there. A few days pass by and I hear nothing so I return to the store and as about the status of my application. They said it is up to the owner to do the hiring but they said they will remind him about it. A few more days pass by and still nothing. I call the store the manager works at and he said he has heard about me and he will look at the application and call me. A few days go by and still nothing. I call again and a sweet old lady picks up and said "Oh I know about you yes it's good you have called b/c we are very busy." It's been a few days since that and I still haven't gotten a call. I really want the job and I am starting to get worried.

Sounds like at the present he is just to busy to look over the applications. Continue to call every couple days and ensure that you let them know how interested you are in working at the antique store. Keep the faith and hopefully you will be successful in gaining employment at this job opportunity.

Get dressed in work appropriate attire ,
Return to the shop and talk to the owner directly and tell her you are ready to start today .
Ask if that would be good for her too .

Good Luck !

Never put all you eggs into one basket. If you need a job, then continue to put out applications untill you get one. Even if you have already interviewed somewheere.

If they need help, why wouldn't they interview someone who applied? Unless they think you are not qualified for. I would feel a bit skeptical about this. Would they do this to you with your paycheck? Ohh...we've been busy...you'll get your check soon....think about that!
