i am a honor student at a very good school. i play soccer, and i am captain of the school chess team. i am very mature and i talk about politics all the time. many people have complemented me for this. so im assuming it makes me a better person. however, in a relationship, i prefer a white female. when i told my (black) mother this, she looked at me as if i just commited murder. when i told to black female friends this they joked and said they would kill her. why are black women like this? i am black and happen to prefer white girls. i seem to be more compatible with them. plus they encourage me. where as black females insult me for my intelligence. how can you insult me for my intelligence but then get mad at me for dating someone who likes my intelligence? by the way im 14. if it matters.

There are just not a lot of wonderful black men out there for black women to date statiscally. There are wonderful black men, but black women outnumber black men like 3 to 1 from what I hear. I don't think it is a racist thing or a you thing, but it is hard to lose good black man to a white girl when there are already so few.

There are a lot of bright, attractive black females out there. I have several your age on just my street alone. Pretty, smart, independent girls who are going somewhere in life. Maybe just the ones you know are racist and stupid.

You should feel free to date whatever color, nationality, or race you want. We all should. It is America after all. I wish people would just get over the race issue and get along. I am sick of it already.

sorry your mom made a mistake this time. sometimes parents make mistakes.

it is believed that the smartest and most qualified black men wind up with white women. as a consequence, there are jealousies.

you have made a choice that suits you and that may be best for you under the circumstances you describe.

it might have been a good idea to speak with your mother before you made your decision.

its still a good idea to talk to mom. let her know that, the black girls you have had relationships did not work out and it just so happens the opposite may be true with your new friend, who happens to be white.

ask her for her advice and guidance.

she will obviously express her opinion, after which, let her know that you would like to see what the differences are. ask for her support and agreement. this is very important. mom is the most important person in the world and you need her support.

there are other more complicated tangents but lets just go with the above for now.

remember always get mom to agree. she is your key to happiness and success.

my general comment.

you are doing a fine job at school. keep up the good work.

hope you become a chess grand master and world champion.

you sound like a very good young man and hope you will continue.

remember, always be a gentleman. you will be respected and admired for you very good behavior.

always make sure any girl you go out has told her parents about you so there will no surprises.

best wishes and god's blessings upon you.

To be honest with you it doesnt matter if the girl is black or white because not all black females insults the intelligance of another person. And most black females prob get mad because of the fact that yor putting us all in one catergory saying that we cant do for you what a women who is white can when in fact that is not true either i feel as though nobody should care about the race its more about the person and there personality

Because from their perspective the "supply" of available black men is lessened in large measure by societal ills such as incarceration, street violence, and drug addiction. I have observed fairly visceral reactions on their part which seems to overstate their position, but life has shown me on some levels there is some validity to their claims. Ultimately though, you're free to be with whomever makes you happy. I favor treating the cause, not the symptom.

Your avatar threw me off, and I almost didn't read this question all the way through ...

I don't think it is fair to generalize by saying "black women" ... many people do not like it when the people in their race date outside of their race. It is a ridiculous attitude, in my eyes, but it is important to a lot of people.

I have found with many races it is a matter of pride to them ... if you are proud of your own skin, you'll stick to the same color when you date/marry/reproduce. They see it as a personal insult when someone of their same race dates outside of the race, because they see it as a personal affront of them not being good enough for you.

As for your mother ... give her a hug and tell her she raised you to be a loving, intelligent man and you want to date people who appreciate those qualities.

If you are dating outside of your race because of generalizations that people in your race make fun of your intelligence, maybe you should seek out intelligent people in your race and see if you feel an attraction for them. It would make your mom happy, and teach yourself a lesson at the same time.

If you are dating outside of your race because you feel more attracted to people outside of your race WITHOUT being influenced by how people inside your race treat you, then explain to your mother that you are attracted to those girls.

Whatever you do, always make sure that anyone you bring home is respectful to your family, always. I don't care if your mother is out and out rude - it is NOT ok for someone you bring home to insult your mother. At the same time, if the person comes over and your mother is being rude but the person you brought home is not, pull your mom to the side and ask her to please look at the whole person and not just the skin color.

Good luck in life darlin :)

I think it has something to do with losing a member of the black male mating population to the other team (white girls).

I think you answered you answered your own question. I've dated black woman before, and they've told me the same thing about black men. That they insult them because they have a good education, are doing something with their lives, and have conservative values.

1) If you are black, then why is your avatar not black?
2) Black women get upset purely because of racism. If we are all basically the same except for the color of our skin, then it shouldn't matter to anyone. But, it does, and the only explanation is racism.
