Because Americans have a bad attitude, out of all the answers to that question TWO could be considered to say Canada is better than the US. Get rid of the chip on your shoulder and everyone will like Americans better.
The rest stated what is good about Canada. And you see THAT as a slur against the US? Did you expect everyone to praise the US and say its better than Canada?
We are for the most part Canadians, we think Canada IS better, for a lot of reasons. Dont see you saying its better than the US - probably because you are American (duh)

I am Canadian and I don't think we are better than Americans. I think our country has a lot to offer the world, and the question you are referring to was from someone who wanted to know what was good about Canada or what Canadians liked about their country. That was what everyone was trying to emphasize, except for a few nasty people who like to pee on everyone's cornflakes.
It seems like some Americans ask this type of question, almost like they need to build up their self-esteem or want to be liked by everyone, and are surprised when someone feels otherwise. Both your government and ours do some moronic stuff, but the people on the street (American and Canadian) are some of the best in the world!
That is what is great about our two countries. You can have two people with different opinions, and both express them openly, and at the end of the day you both go to the bar and have a drink about the diversity.

Honestly I can't really tell the difference between a Canadian and an American...there are ignorant, violent, intelligent, educated, multilingual, and culturally aware people on both sides of the border...I just think the American government (along with a handful of YA respondents from the U.S.) does a better job than our government of making its people look like idiots.

when i read that question i just thought that the people who answered it would rather live in canada than the US. Maybe they like Canada better then the United States, that doesnt mean they think that they are better than you. Some canadians might think they are better than americans, but I dont.

Canadian and American.
Canada has been America's geatest ally when it counted and had the balls to tell us to our face when they thought we were wrong.
