He has proved he is useless at decision making by having to flood the earth once to get rid of the evil-that didn't work did it? He also gave us free will and now people needlessly suffer because of starvation and famine everyday, another bad decision as apparently he isn't allowed to go back on his word and help-even if a baby is getting raped...He is useless at this type of thing, strange for an all knowing being..

Nothing about any of it makes sense to me. So my religious belief is "sh*t happens." I agree with you.

There is a difference between judging and controlling...in fact, they are, in many ways, mutually exclusive concepts.

If God wanted to control his creation then there would be no need for judgment...control would eliminate the possibility of rebellion and disobedience...everyone would follow his instructions to the letter because he would have made us that way (much like the concept of production control in business...design the machine to perform the required task consistently and accurately with no significant deviation from the plan...six sigma and all that).

Judgment on the other hand suggests that the thing being judged had a choice...that through its own actions, it could perform a multitude of tasks with differing outcomes. Judgment is consistent with freedom, control is consistent with slavery.

God didn't want slaves, he wanted friends...people would would CHOOSE to serve him because they accepted that he knew best...after all, who knows best what something was designed to do except the creator of that thing?

The flood doesn't prove that God is useless at decision making...rather the reverse, it proves that he is willing to make the "tough decisions" necessary to achieve the desired objectives. Free will isn't a bad decision either for without it, his creation couldn't possibly be created "in his image". God isn't a slave and didn't create a bunch of mindless, heartless robots to do his bidding without question...what possible value could that be to him?

Where in the world did you get the idea that God doesn't judge? The flood is clear evidence of God's judgement as is the basic decision to give us free will (just as the government knows that giving people freedom means that we must have a method for judging people that abuse that freedom)! God absolutely judges every person (and every thing) he created. Furthermore, he reserves the right to judgment to himself alone...he doesn't give the right of judgment to us for that WOULD be a poor decision (something about letting the inmates run the prison though I don't think life is a prison).

As for your suggestion that God can't "go back on his word" and help people trapped in horrible situations, again, where did you get that idea. Throughout my life I've heard stories about people who were saved from terrible circumstances by what could only be described as an "act of God". What about the starvation, abuse, rape and murder committed against the Hebrew people when they were enslaved by Egypt?...he didn't stand back and watch, he got involved. ...and I believe he still does that today.

However, and here's the biggie, the problems you mentioned (starvation, famine, baby-raping, and a whole lot more things that cause people to "needlessly suffer") are ALL a result of OUR choices...furthermore, it is our responsibility to solve these problems. Yes, God can (and does) intervene but at what point would his intervention cross the line from "free will" to "control"? I have no doubt he knows exactly where this line is and chooses not to cross it because he doesn't want to control his creation, he wants (needs even) for us to choose to follow his instructions! If we aren't given the opportunity to do the wrong thing then doing the right thing has no meaning or value. If every person would choose to follow God's instructions the suffering you mentioned would cease to exist...and God has a plan to ultimately bring the world to that place. Until then, God's decision to give us freedom instead of slavery means that there is value in putting your money where your mouth is.

How many starving kids could YOU feed if you gave half your income to feed them? Heck, I know people that could feed an entire African village with the money they spend at Starbucks each year! Just imagine what good could be done if every person in the US decided to purchase a house that provided the necessities of life and took all the money they currently spend on unnecessary things (i.e., landscaping, luxurious fixtures, furnish and decor, extra bedrooms, fancy window...things that aren't necessary for life) and gave it to help others. The houses on Ocean Drive in my town represent enough money to build a house for every person in our city AND provide them all with health care and food.

It's quite simple really...God does have the power to eliminate all the bad things in this world...and he made the decision to give all that responsibility and power to US. I have no doubt that he will eventually judge every one of us according to how well we fulfilled his purpose and he WILL hold us all responsible for the suffering we inflicted through our own actions or inactions!

God does judge he is the ONLY judge, it's people that shouldn't judge.

people are really to blame for starvation, needless murders, rapes, and so forth. without free will people would not be able to make decisions for themselves. why don't all the successful people empty their pockets and save the poor? they could if they weren't selfish (not just the people in hollywood). there are many people who are doing more than well for themselves and they are not trying to end poverty. who kills people. who rapes children; people.
but without free will life would be worthless and meaningless because God could not only stop you from making a bad decision but he would also be depriving you of the right to exercise your freedom of thought.

I don't believe the suffering in this world is due to God's mistakes.

If you were God how would you do things differently?

"Bruce Almighty", seriously, is a good movie to watch regarding an everyday person who becomes angry at God, thinks he can do better, is given the chance to, and realizes that even God has his limits...because in the end, in order for people to be able to freely love they have to be able to freely hate.

cuz maybe he doesnt want *** holes in heaven.
who said life was perfect?..thats the point of having free will.
yeah and he means he doesnt JUDGE people as the person they are and about all the bad things u do.
and about free will, theres a thing called CONFESSION to confess ur sins...then ull be forgiven no matter what wrong thing u do. so its the persons choice.
God is the one who judges on the way u act and if u **** up ur life, thats ur problem, its ur life.

The kindness of God, shown by his sustaining you with food and drink and clothing and shelter, is specifically designed to lead you to turn from sin and to turn in faith to Christ. You mistake God's patience for powerlessness.
