Why doesn't my girlfriend call me by name?

Question

I've been dating a girl for a little more than three months and to this day she has never used my name when talking to me. I have heard her use my name only when talking to other people about me but in person she never has. We are fairly close, but I really don't want to take it any further unless things change. I have talked to her about it and she really doesn't respond with an explanation. She is 19 and I am 25. What should I do?

She has never used any type of name when talking to me in person whatsoever.

That might just be her personal communication style. Actually, I am surprised you picked up on that. I have a friend who is the opposite...he says my name often during the course of a conversation. In contrast...my wife only says my name when she is yelling for me. I wouldn't read anything into it. Maybe have her come up with a pet name for you like Honey Pie or Love Muffin. I bet she will use that and often ; )

What does she call you? Is it bad or is it something 'sweet' like baby or honey etc? If it is then why is that bothering you? Why look at the small things? Jeeezzzzzz!

Ever seen JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE? Well if she uses pet names then she is afraid of mistakingly using another boyfriends name or ex's name.

maybe she has another b/f and she's afraid if she says your name too much she might call her real b/f by your name during sex?
